Rating: Summary: THis book is a must have to become CCNA Review: I saw lots of books and lots of Guides to become CCNA but this book really is the best. It's very clear , comprehensive and it covers everything you need to know. And it is even fun to read :)
Rating: Summary: Good Books for CCNA Exam #640-407 Review: Just manage to pass the CCNA exam today, score 850. Thanks for the CCNA study guide & Exam notes! Brgds. Alvin Wong
Rating: Summary: Love the writing style! Passed the exam. Review: I passed the exam with this easy to digest reading style. I thought that I didn't know enough about Cisco to pass the exam, but this book gave me absolutly everything I needed to pass the exam.
Rating: Summary: The absolute best book for the CCNA exam! Review: I passed the new CCNA exam using only this book and scored a 945! I used routersim.com to practice with hands-on, which is very, very helpful. I recommend this book. No errors, and easy to read. Kept me awake.
Rating: Summary: The casual style lends something to be desired Review: I found the book hard to read due to the casual style of writing. The author uses first person and slang to teach a very technical subject. The book has errors as most do. It also does not fully cover the material neccesary to pass the test.
Rating: Summary: Good book, nasty CD.. Review: I bought this book, read it once besides some other study-guides, and passed the new test with a score of 935! This book gives you a good background for the test. You'll need some hands-on experience though (which I had plenty of). A big minor is the included CD. Don't use the SureCert program that's on it! It's got exactly the same questions as in the book and often gives you wrong answers!! It's misleading. The sniffer-programs on the CD couldn't be installed due to expired evaluaton-period. But besides that, it's a good book that's easy to read.
Rating: Summary: Best Preparation for new CCNA Test Review: I passed the new CCNA test in about 40 minutes (including a delay when the test crashed) using this book, the Exam Notes, and a Cisco 804 router to prepare. This was the best self-study guide I have even used, and I passed the six MCSE tests also using Sybex guides. In fact, I was intially reluctant to buy this volume due to my lack of satisfaction with Todd's "MCSE: TCP/IP for NT Server 4 Study Guide". But after readying very good reviews in Groupstudy mailing group, I'm glad I made the purchase. I just bought the ACRC Study Guide, the Ciscopress ACRC guide, and two 2501 routers to get ready for the next test.
Rating: Summary: Great Book if you want to start your career in networking Review: I have just read this book, and although I already install networks for a living, I don't have any certs to prove my level of expertise. I found this book to a valuable source in getting the basic understanding of what goes into networking, and although I haven't taken the exam yet I am sure that I will pass easily, and it is this book that has given me the confidence. I have also purchased CCNP and am looking forward to reading it. Thank you Todd
Rating: Summary: I passed the new CCNA in only 45 minutes! Review: I received a 933 score out of 78 questions. I used this book, Todd's routersim.com product and his CCNA Exam Notes book. I would recommend all three if possible. The routersim.com product gave me the hands-on experience I needed to feel confident when I took the exam. The CCNA Study Guide and Notes books are fantastic. If you want to understand what is on the CCNA new exam, then at least get this book.
Rating: Summary: You gotta have this book. Review: This book is the best technical book I have ever read. It is easy to understand and is not boring. I passed my CCNA using only this book as my primary study. I also used Todd's Routersim product!
