Rating: Summary: The perfect introduction to the world of Cisco Routers Review: This book is everything that it claims to be and more. It is a really good introduction to Cisco Routers and a good exam guide for the CCNA 640-407 exam. It covers the topics remarkably well in a language that is easy to understand. The best part of the book is the large number of practise questions at the end of each chapter that work successfully to drill the material covered in the chapter in your head. This book goes a long way in making me a CCNA. Buying this book should be your first and biggest step towards pursuing a CCNA.
Rating: Summary: Great Book !!! must buy! Review: It's been a while since I've bought a Sybex book that taught you more than just to pass the exam. Although there are a lot of typos in this book, I still think this book is a must buy for learning about the basic of Cisco or to pass the CCNA 2.0
Rating: Summary: Good except for typos Review: I'm almost 1/2 thru book and have no complaints except for a fairly high # of typos considering this is the 2nd edition.
Rating: Summary: The best peice of work I have ever seen in a network book! Review: This book is overloaded with sample exam questions, flash cards, written exams, review quesitons, command-line interface questions and hands-on labs that it is a complete training package in itself! With the Sybex e-trainer and this book you have more then you need for the CCNA exam. I passed the first time thanks to this book.
Rating: Summary: CCNA helper...for sure Review: The book will prepare anyone who has only light experience with routers. It would have been nice if Lammle would have detailed VLAN configuration on a switch but I guess it's not completely necessary for the test. Nevertheless, the book is just as good as the 1st edition.
Rating: Summary: Better than Cisco's own book! Review: I bought two books to prepare for CCNA, this one and Cisco's own CCNA exam 3 books(CD) set.I passed the exam with 870+ after studying the books for one whole week. I have a little handson experience with routers, but I think if you are MCSE, you can pass the exam too by only reading the books. This book has a very good structure and explain things in a way that's easy to understand. While Cisco's book is very disorganized. The only drawback is this book doesn't have enough Frame Relay questions. You need to read Cisco's book for that. Buena Suerte!
Rating: Summary: Don't look any further than this book! Review: I was very impressed with this book. After reading this book I took and passed the CCNA 2.0 exam. This book is very thorough. I found the flashcards and test questions to be key to getting my CCNA. I will be using the CCDA: Cisco Certified Design Associate Study Guide to get my CCDA. You won't find a better and more acurate book for your CCNA out there! With this book, you will get your CCNA.
Rating: Summary: Very Good Review: I just took the CCNA exam last week and passed it with a 841/1000. All I used to study was this book and the Study notes by Lammle's. Also used Boson practice tests! those were awesome! One of those tests ( series of 4) referred directly to this book and gave page numbers. That was awesome. Thanks. AG-T.. Now! off to the next adventure! GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU!
Rating: Summary: Get Started with with Cisco here... Review: A great tool to learn Cisco router basics and a wonderful reference guide. I would suggest, if your are a beginner looking for CCNA Certification, that you supplemented this study guide with another course. But this IS the place to start!
Rating: Summary: Very helpful Review: I used this book with "Cisco A Beginners Guide" andmanaged to pass. Also, definetly use the Routersim program that Lammleoffers,if you can't afford real router time. I had no experience in the network field nor do I work in it now. Yet I managed to pass. Guess anything is possible. Thanks Todd. Kyle A. CCNA,ATP-SEL,MEL(CE-500),Helicopter, CFII-A,H,MEI,BSc. Senior Pilot,SKY10 ABC News (Father of 2, all around good guy) END
