Rating: Summary: Jacob Manoj Johnson , Kuwait Review: Excellent book, makes one understand the subject with so much of ease. Enjoyed reading the book and was able to become a CCNA 2.0 in just 16 days. The tests were excellent , makes one prepared for the real exam. The exam was a piece of cake thanx to Todd. Now I am preparing for CCNP and the books I would buy would be by none other my "GURU" Todd.
Rating: Summary: Best of the Best Review: Read book, pass test. Need I say more?
Rating: Summary: Not sufficient for the exam Review: I studied from Lamle's book to prepare for the exam, and I passed. Though, I think it is not reliable for the CCNA 2.0. I had 3 questions that were not part of the book at all. The questions were about making the router a TFTP server, spantree command, and booting from rom. The book has so many errors. I think that getting the official study curriculum from Cisco press is the best thing to prepare for the examGood luck
Rating: Summary: good book to pass ccna Review: i bought this book only to study for my ccna test and i passed it in first try with a decent score. However, i also used other material I could get online to study for the test, because there are topics that weren't covered in the book.
Rating: Summary: A nice book with some problematic chapters Review: I've just finished the first 6 chapters on this book. In the chapter on routing, there are MANY mismatches on naming in figures and in explainations. Also, chapter 6 on VLAN is a total dissaster. Is this chapter even written in English??? It's so confusing I think Cisco's white paper might do a better job expalianing the material than this chapter does. However, I think several other chapters are very well-written. The practice problems are very useful. The chapter on IP subnetting is awesome.
Rating: Summary: Great Study Guide Review: I scored 935 on my first attempt to pass this test. I studied for less than two months and used only this study guide for preparation. I have worked with "the other guy's" routers for several years, but I had never really worked with Cisco, so I wanted to learn how. I was really nervous about the test since I had never taken a Cisco exam before, but Lammle's study guide really helped me to nail it. Get this guide, study and pass.
Rating: Summary: Excellent book, but too much info to pass the CCNA Review: This book is huge, containing so many detailed information that is not needed to pass the test. It's a good book to have in your collection, especially if you're going to continue in the Cisco certification path. But if your goal is to pass the CCNA, don't read this book cover to cover. Print out a CCNA study guide from any free site to see what is going to be covered in the test, and then use this book to look up those subjects. This book does a good job in explaining those concepts. I passed the CCNA with a 903 using this method. Also, don't bother doing any of the practice exams in the back of this book. None of the questions I got was even close to how difficult these practice questions are. Good luck!!!
Rating: Summary: The benchmark for CCNA exam! Review: What can I say? This book is simply all one would require to pass the CCNA exam. Personally, I did read more books than just this one, but clearly it was the best and the easiest to read. If you are only prepared to buy one book, then click "add to my cart" on the top right of this page. You have found the bomb! Oh yes, I passed my CCNA too...easily...Thanks Todd!
Rating: Summary: THE best book Review: I passed the CCNA examine easily with this book. The book is easy to read but will help you understand the material at any level. I also used the e-trainer as a supplement to reinforce the hands-on material. This book should be supplemented with a cram/questions book to prepare to sample questions. I used ExamCram's prep and questions book and together the three books helped me. Cisco's books are usually hard to understand and sometimes with more information than you need to know. This book is straight to the point.
