Rating: Summary: THE BEST CCIE CERIFICATION BOOK AVAILABLE Review: Of course no one book prepares you for the exam. However the author stresses this point and gives you a perfect outline for going about studying for the test. I just passed my written exam and plan to use this book as an outline for study. This book was written well and its actually affordable compared to its competitors...I don't want to mention any names.....GILES :=)
Rating: Summary: The best Cisco Certification/Reference book on the Market!!! Review: I can't say enough about this book, this book is by far the most informative Cisco book out. I own just about every Cisco book available and this one stands heads above the rest. This book covers just about everything you could ever want, Routers, Switches, etc..it goes on and on..Excellent book, a must for you technical library. It is very detailed and excellent to just have around the office for a reference. This book is as close to a Cisco "Bible" as I've seen.
Rating: Summary: What A Great Book!!! Review: I have an extensive library: all the Cisco Press books, Cisco course guides, Cisco Technical Expert Series, etc, and I can tell you that this book really stands out on a crowded bookshelf. If you have ever spent an hour reading Cisco documentation and felt it left you hanging without all the info you needed, then this is the book for you. I am currently preparing for the CCIE lab, and this book is just fabulous. In particular, I have found it a superb resource for: frame relay, DLSw+, DECnet, LAT, CAT Switch Configs. The book is a real bargain at whatever price they want to charge!
Rating: Summary: A Great Book by a Great Teacher Review: For those of us familiar with the arcane world of bridges, routers, and CISCO, Caslow's book is a tour de force of useful, well-explained information. Caslow's reputation as an instructor on the leading edge of information technology plainly shows in this comprehensive guidebook for the 21st century student of the technology. It's obvious how much time, energy, and knowledge went into this effort -- if you're preparing for a career, this is your one-stop shop.
Rating: Summary: Well organized and easy to read. Review: This is the best Cisco-related book that I have read so far. The author presents the topics in a very logical manner; one topic flows into the next, without missing a beat. Caslow does a fine job of tying the different parts of the Cisco IOS together in a manner that makes it easy to understand. The way that he carefully points out potential problems and creates lists for the steps in each process is refreshing when compared to other books. BRS was intended for CCIE candidates, but it would be perfect for any Cisco specialist, whether or not you are pursuing certification. The in-depth understanding of each topic will be very useful on-the-job as well as for test preparation.
Rating: Summary: Great CCIE Hands-On Book Review: This book has lots of detail. In particular, I was looking for a book to help clarify the details of DLSw+. With 45 minutes of reading from this book, I understood the concepts of DLSw+ better than after several hours reading Cisco's IBM Bridging book. This book is definitely worth your money if you are preparing for the CCIE hands-on lab.
Rating: Summary: Excellent instructor Review: Having taken a class with Bruce, and getting to know him during my training with his company. I am sure that this will be a great book. Bruce is very dedicated to making sure his students enjoy the class, and understand the topics at the same time
