Rating: Summary: Wait for the Video Rebuttal Review: This book is a revelation to anyone overwhelmed with the pressures of getting married and preparing a wedding. It will really help you put the focus back where it belongs, on your betrothed and on the sacredness of the rite you are about to undertake. Truly a breath of fresh air among the overpowered, facile and downright creepy expectations that so many wedding books try to implant. My thanks to the author!

Rating: Summary: Draws you both closer to God before the big day! Review: This book is wonderful! My husband and I read it together in the months before our wedding, taking turns writing our responses, praying together and talking about some issues that may not have come up otherwise (like "past loves"). This book really places the focus on the marriage and the sanctity of that covenant, and on keeping God at the center of the relationship. We can also now go back and read the notes we made to each other in the book, and remember how special that time was leading up to our wedding. Buy this book!!
Rating: Summary: Great even for guys Review: This is a great read even for men. I am not a bible-thumper by any means, but this book gives some outstanding examples for keeping the religious aspect (God) in your wedding. This is the only wedding planning book that I have read for our wedding in 2002; I'll let my fiance read all of the others.

Rating: Summary: Not for wimps Review: This is the book I've spent months looking for: One that offers support, help, ideas and comfort to a bride and groom who are really seeking God. There are a few books written on "spiritual weddings" but none that are so straight-forward, honest and challenging. It's not about how to plan a ceremony that gives people warm-fuzzies. Instead, the author presents us with a loving, all-powerful, miracle-working God and stresses the importance of preparing the heart and soul for marriage, not just the guest-list, the gown and all the details (though she gives good advice on these subjects too.) Asking God to prepare you for marriage and having the courage to truly ask for His presence at your wedding and in your life is not a task for wimps, but the rewards are immeasurable.

Rating: Summary: Wait For The Video Review: What's most extraordinary about this self-proclaimed Jesus-girl of Hollywood is that she has finally come to believe her own myth. Her book, purportedly on the marriage of God and matrimony, is filled with more melo-dramatic hypocrisy than her inexplicably successful series, Touched By An Angel. Why over the course of these 7 years she has presumed we need her advice and wisdom is beyond comprehension. More insulting is her insistence that we find God, when cleary, she has done little in that area herself. (e.g. her marriage grew out of an adulterous affair) It is a poorly written, manipulative essay on what it's like to be Martha -- not a particularly bright or engaging woman. Truly, a dog of a book.
