Summary: Greek words by number - but there are better tools.
Review: This dictionary lets you look up words by their Strong's numbers, which means that you can find the definitions without knowing Greek. I spent about 10-15 minutes browsing this dictionary for definitions for words that I had studied in some depth, and the definitions did not seem to agree with those in other, more scholarly lexicons. Some editions of Vine's "Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words" also have indexes that use Strong's numbers, and Vine's dictionary is much more accurate. Although "The Complete Word Study New Testament Dictionary" claims to be "a detailed study tool for Bible scholars", nobody who knows Greek uses it, since there are much better dictionaries for those who know Greek (for my reviews of these other dictionaries, see "http://www.mindspring.com/~jwrobie/littleGreek.html").

Review: This is a good buy! Kind of a poor man's BAGD (Top of the line Greek Lexicon). This book goes great with McReynold's Greek-English Word Study interlinear NT. A great combination because McReynold's interlinear has the Strong's # above each greek word in the interlinear, so you can use that number with this Dictionary to get a very throroughl Word Study. (McReynold's also has a Word Study which is much briefer, but in ways more useful and user frienly than this comprhensive Word Study. All in all, this book and McReynold's make a great team when used together!!! I would not recommend going with Zodh's other book (Zodh's NT)-- It has no greek interlinear and uses the KJV. Eric

Summary: A Wonderful Resource
Review: This New Testament dictionary is one of the most valuable resources that I have. This dictionary provides in depth meanings to Greek biblical words. It goes very well with a Strong's Concordance or with the word study produces by the same author. The need for understanding Greek is really not understood by most people. When going through this book I really found out how much different the Greek language is from English. This resource is very easy to use, and really not over the heads of those who aren't fluent in Greek. I found this to be a very enlightening tool in growing in knowledge of the New Testament. This was one of the first tools I learned to use when being taught biblical interpretation and I've always found this dictionary to be solid. I'm not an expert in the topic of New Testament Greek, but I do know that works and what is useful. This is a user friendly dictionary.
