Summary: Only book I've read through twice
Review: The descriptions of the fire fights are written very well.

I can't say it's the best book I've ever read but I'll say it's the best WAR book I've read.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Powerful
Review: This book is a must read for all Marines and military persons alike. Unfortunately it is a true account of what Lcpl Clark and many others went through. I honestly could not put the book down and have much respect for the Marines and others who paid their dues.

Mr Clark I would like to say SEMPER FI and would like to meet you some day.....

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The best first person account of Vietnam I have ever read!
Review: This book not only was accurate in it's detail of what American Marines faced in Vietnam, it brought every emotion that the American Marine felt. The descriptions of the battles was more captivating than anything hollywood could ever create. This story will bring you back or it will it educate you on the perils on the Vietnam marine.

Summary: Great! the best I have read on a real life story
Review: This book touched me in a way I cant describe. To read this mans life in the "bush" and how he with stood fire from the enemy was awsome. How he stayed alive, how he delt with losses and how he found god in all this "Hell". I am a 16 year old kid who has read books from the Civil War to Vietnam. This one is the top. I cant put it down!!

Summary: Guns Up
Review: This is a great book about the Vietnam War as it was experienced by a soldier. In this book John Clark learns what it is like to participate in a war. He and his friend, Richard Chan, go out and experience one of the worst things, in my mind, that have ever happened. I gave this book five stars for a reason, and if you like war books, you will too.

Summary: Great Book-by a brave man (not counting his purple hearts)
Review: This is a great read. As I got toward the end of book I found myself slowing
down, because I was enjoying it so much.
As a VN vet myself I had an appreciation for his story of his time in country.
But weather your a vet or not you'll enjoy Mr. Clark's exploits.

Summary: One of my all time favorites
Review: This is an incredible read. I was given GUNS UP in paper back several years ago and just couldn't put it down. I made the big mistake of letting a friend borrow it. I never saw it again. That book got passed around and I just lost count of who had it last. I finally found a hard back of it and didn't tell anyone that I had it.
