Summary: Pimsleur Works !
Review: The Pimsleur set of 4 tapes may be a minimalist approach to language learning, but it presents an easy and completely unintimidating beginning to Hebrew Language study. Recommended for all of us who are not "whizzes" at picking up languages. This course leaves you at quite an elementary level, however, and I don't yet know how it will interface with Pimsleur's or any other publisher's next level.

Summary: Good for getting a date
Review: These tapes offer basic instruction in Hebrew. Lots of repetition, but not much progress for four tapes. For somebody with no Hebrew experience, this may be O.K. For somebody with a rudimentary knowledge of Hebrew, say at the level of functioning on a bus in Israel, the tapes aren't very useful. If Pimsleur also produced intermediate and advanced Hebrew tapes, the minimal content would be more acceptable. The tapes stress pronunciation, which is very helpful.

There is one segment of the population for which these tapes are ideal: the non Hebrew-speaking male who is trying to get a date with a Hebrew-only speaking female.
