People often come to this town prepaired to act, but totally unprepaired for and uneducated about the reality of the buisness of acting. Bonnie spells out exactly how, why, and when to do the things you need to do to be an effective and efficient actor off screen. This book is an extreamly valuable resource.

As a parent of an "aspiring actor" this book as well as "Casting Q's" has been an absolute Godsend!!! I don't know how I could have helped my son through the audition process without having these two books to refer to. It helps me to understand what he goes through and to discuss things after. (otherwise how would I know what he was talking about) Most importantly it is a huge aid in keeping a positive attitude after an audition because the books explain every aspect of the audition process. Self-Management for Actors has one section in the book where you can actually "follow" an actor through an average day of her auditions...it's fantastic!! As well there is a section on "What's my Type" This was my son's favorite chapter, he says this is always a question he has on his mind as he works his way up the auditioning ladder. My son and I refer to both books constantly, you don't just read these type of books once. So to sum it up...a MUST HAVE for actors AND parents of actors!!!
