Summary: Smart, Savvy Gillespie Knows her Stuff!
Review: ...and she's not afraid to share! Uber useful manual for aspiring & established actors seeking to maximize their Hollywood potential. Written with humor, candor and an unusual appreciation for the actor, him/herself. Well done!

Summary: All my annoying questions answered
Review: Back when I was a theater major, I had endless questions about the business side of acting, and I never got any satisfactory answers until I read this book. Bonnie brings experience and humor to the page that gives you a battle plan to tackle the wild urban jungle that is Los Angeles. She lays out where to focus your time, effort, and money to get maximum results. She even has tips on LA traffic. Yeah, it's still helpful to have luck and connections, but she gives you clear ways to stack the deck in your favor, even if you have no relation to anyone named Coppolla or Barrymore. To anyone interested in acting: I highly recommend Audition by Michael Shurtleff and Self-Management for Actors: Getting Down to (Show) Business.
Break a Leg!

Summary: Bonnie Gillespie's "Time Management for Actors" is A+++
Review: Bonnie Gillespie's "Self-Management for Actors: Getting Down to (Show) Business" is right on the mark! Bonnie's non "fluff" attitude to hit the mark and answer all of the questions "inquiring minds want to know about the acting biz" is met head on and with a perfect "punch". No where in this book will you turn the pages without reading them....you know, we have all done that....because we know what the author is gonna say... WELL, NOT HERE...Bonnie answers our questions before we ask them so we aren't held up waiting for the answer or the question!....Bonnie's "quick to the chase" format is what made this book perfect for me...as a mom of three, there isn't a lot of time for the drawn our answer to a specific question...I never got that with Bonnie's Self Management For Actor's Book...I was captivated and read it all within one night - how's that for a busy mom of three?

Bonnie hits the nail on the head. It's as simple as that. You want to succeed in this business - check this book out? You want to excell in this business - OWN this book. It's a mainstay in our home - it should be in yours, too!

Summary: STOP wasting your money on postage/BUY THIS BOOK!
Review: Have you spent hundreds of dollars sending your headshot to everyone in town, and still seen no results? This book is for anyone who has come to Hollywood and wondered why they aren't getting appointments. Yes, you must have talent. Yes, you must have a "look", but to succeed in Los Angeles, what you really need to master is the pragmatic hustle. SELF MANAGEMENT FOR ACTORS will help you master the business half of "show business" - whether you have an agent or not. Bonnie Gillespie knows her stuff.

Summary: BRAVO!
Review: I finished reading Self-Management for Actors last weekend, it was a very enjoyable read. It not only gave me some new ideas on how to sell myself as an actor, but it also reenforced some of the things that I have been doing. What I particularly found interested was how different the west coast ways are from the way things are done on the east coast, and yet the suggestions that are offered in the book can very effectively be applied to both coasts.

It was an enjoyable and educational read, and also a book that I am sure I will be referencing in the future. Especially if I decide at some point to move from NY to LA. I have yet to read Bonnie Gilespie's CASTING Q's, but I plan on picking it up this weekend.

Summary: A MUST-HAVE for the serious actor
Review: I recommend and have recommended this book to all my actor friends. It's an easy read and it's packed with such useful information. I love the quotes from other industry professionals. If you don't yet have your own manager you need to manage your own career yourself in a productive and professional manner that will get you working and this book shows you how! I think this book is great and it teaches you how to take charge of your own career and start making those opportunities happen instead of hoping and waiting for something to happen. A MUST-HAVE for actors who are serious about their acting career.

Summary: Required reading for all actors.
Review: I second Mr. Parke's review of this book completely. Well thought out, informative, yet pulling no punches. Solid info for those who are working actors as well as those who are working on being working actors.
