Summary: Dog Town, Hard-core Punk, Hip-Hop, essential classic!
Review: I can't believe that I had not heard of or seen this book until now. It took the "Dog town and the Legend of the Z-boys" book Friedman and Stecyk did to turn me onto this one. The Dogtown book is really great, but this book is ... awesome! Who could believe that Friedman after his Dogtown days went on to shoot as many other hard-core "heroes" as he did. It's all in here, and all classic; From Tony Alva and Jay Adams to Black Flag, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Dead Kennedy's, the Germs, and Fugazi; to L.L. Cool J, Run-DMC, Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, Eric B. & Rakim, Ice T, and many more in their prime. It's just awesome. All the shots are amazing classics; to capture them all in one book is really something. Something really worth owning. (The in-depth caption index gives you information on the subjects, their views at the time, and Friedman's perspective too.) This book proves that without a doubt Friedman has got to be one the most important photographers of his generation!

The only slight disappointment I had with the Dog town book was that some of the most classic important photos in the Dog town film were not included in that book. But guess what? They are in this one! Tony Alva classic 1st frontside air at the Dog bowl, Jay Adams knocking up the coping, Alva flipping the bird, and probably all of the most classic Friedman Dogtown shots are here in "FUCK YOU HEROES." this one is a must, without a doubt.

Highly Recommended.

Summary: Nasty
Review: I can't blieve this sort of thing has been published!! How offensive. It promotes just the sort of thing our society needs to rid. MAY GOD SAVE MR FRIEDMAN for propogating this sort of behavior.

Summary: This is an Essential work!!!
Review: I don't own this book myself, however I have seen it and I do own the second issue "*&^% you too". This is an essential work for anyone that grew up on punk rock, skateboarding, and in general displays a counter culture attitude that just says what else "&*^% you". Glen's eye catches that exact moment in time that completely makes you wish you were there. How many times can I look through for the most intense punk photos from Black Flag one of the sickest and most aggresive bands ever. This book also contains some old and classic skateboarding photography when the movement was just a baby. Glen also did a lot of work for early underground rap artist's and has shot many album covers that you will most likely recognize. Just get it for the Black Flag photos by itself.

Summary: I was five then, but Glen put me THERE.
Review: If you want to experience life in a different time, a life of music, fun, crime and lots of color, buy this book. Glen Friedman knows how to capture an angle that will put any photographer to shame. It's like a yearbook of every classic band you have ever loved.

Summary: a must! it'll open your mind on both music & photography!
Review: kinda real social/artist document, including really unbelievable images that really will capture you. This is what you'd really have like to see on punk-hardcore/skatin'/hip-hop reality, shot from the inner! Plus give you strong positive vibes on consciousness and integrity in life. don't miss it!

Summary: This book is an all time Classic.
Review: Many photos that you may have seen, but never knew who took them. This guy has taken some of the most famous photos in the history of skateboarding and punk rock. The pics of Black Flag(Rollins w/ the mic in his mouth), and (Chuck D in prison are killer!) The hardcores will know what I'm talking about. Freidman Rules! Also, check out his Z - Boys book. It's great.

Summary: This book is an all time Classic.
Review: This book is a classic. All it's claims are true. The most incredible pictures of the most incredible original dogtown skateboarders, the most radical hardcore punks in the heyday of hardcore, and the greatest hip hop artists of all time. All photographed with respect and integrity with a style like no one else, and everyone else can only aspire to and be inspired by.
