Summary: A great author and professor!
Review: Prof. Ira Levine - the author of this text -- teaches at my alma mater, Brooklyn College. When I was an undergraduate, I was fortunate enough to take him for both semesters of Physical Chemistry. I must admit that he is both a wonderful lecturer and a great author. Any serious Physical Chemistry student should consider his textbook, which is clearly, written and well-organized. If you have any questions regarding my experiences with the textbook and/or lectures, feel free to e-mail me.

Summary: Well organized and understandable text for most students.
Review: Unlike many authors, Dr. Levine chose to write a Physical Chemistry text that the student can use and self learn in many cases. Other authors of Physical Chemistry texts frequently choose to demonstrate to the students how brilliant they are and how stupid the students are. A notable example is the author of a text which is widely used throughout the US even though I wouldn't use it for a doorstop. Physical Chemistry is difficult enough without somebody's ego making it even more difficult to understand. It appears to me that this author was attempting to become the Walter J. Moore of the 90s. Moore's text was also ridiculously difficult and confounded more students then it taught. Its time for authors to speak to the students as if they were their customers not subordinates. I highly recommend Ira Levine's Physical Chemistry text for the general student body. A.P. Piechowski (Ph.D. Physical Chemistry)
