Summary: Excellent textbook
Review: I was recently introduced to this textbook by a child neurologist while I was on an elective at my medical school; he had used an earlier edition during his training and spoke glowingly of it. It's a quite comprehensive text written in a very clear style (a boon for tired eyes and tired minds at the end of the day), and its fairly reasonable price makes it accessible to medical students and residents. Another excellent child neurology book is the one by Berg, however, it has not been updated and there are apparently no plans to release another edition. In short, Menkes' and Sarnat's book is a very valuable addition to the aspiring child neurologist's library.

Review: This is a reference text for Child Neurology. However, it is quite "readable" and can be finished in a month's rotation, if one is motivated to do so. It is very clearly written, but does not have many tables or illustrations. Still, it is the best and most current reference text available for Child Neurology.
