Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: great ! Review: At last someone has written an entire book dedicated to this subject! I started finding out about the disadvantages of drinking pastuerized milk in 1999 from a book called "The Tao of Health, Sex and Longevity" by Daniel Reid (available from Amazon).Reid concluded that milk actually curdles in the stomach and makes other food indigestible, and also pasturization destroys all enzymes and nutrients in it. Since that book, I stopped drinking milk and my complexion got better, and the acne disappeared. Also i used to have stomach problem (keeps having diarrhoea after drinking milk), and that disappeared as well. And now more and more doctors are coming out with the same infomation on milk. Dr RObert Young, a microbilogist (author of "The pH Miracle") says from his study, says the biggest misconception of society is that milk, being a calcium product, will give us calcium. It has been concluded now that this is not the case. Milk, is actually bleaching calcium from our bones, not putting calcium into it. Dr Young says milk contains lactose, which is a sugar in the body, and when sugar is released into the bloodstream, calcium is used by the body from our calcium reserves in our body (eg the bones), to neutralize the acids of the sugar. Moreover, Dr Young does real live blood analysis, and he says if you look at your red blood cells after drinnking milk, you wont be happy, as it makes the red blood cells stick together and fill them with bacteria and toxins. And studies done in the 1980s already showed that people who drink milk each day, have the weakest bones of all, while people who drink less or avoid it altogether invariably have stronger bones. Anthony Robbins in his first book "Unlimited Power" also cited the same research result in 1986.FOr those who are interested, read the other books as well as they support the information the author is saying.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: About Benner Review: Benner cans this book and says that Soy is worse than milk. Here is what Benner says elsewhere on Amazon:"...my point is, don't think you can compromise with pasteurized dairy if you can't get raw dairy. Pasteurized dairy is very bad for you, for so many reasons. Probably worse than any processed soy product." The guy makes it up as he goes along. This book on the other hand is underpinned by relevant, fully cited, references to research documention that anyone can look up for themselves and test for themselves. Benner's rantings are not verifiable by anyone.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Lacking content Review: I recently became interested in learning more about milk when I stumbled upon a website claiming that milk is horrible for you. I ended up purchasing this book so that I could learn about the dangers of milk. I was disappointed with this book, because it is not a very good introduction to the topic. It is a short summary, and although references are given, the book lacks explanation for most of the symptoms listed. This book would be more appropriate for children/teenagers. If you are looking for a thorough and convincing investigation into the hazards of drinking milk, this is not your book. At least, it didn't convince me. Also, in my opinion, the price for this book is about twice what it should be.

Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Not Science - Buyer Beware Review: Natural milk -- without growth hormones, antibiotics, and other additives -- is one of the most perfect foods on Earth. Numerous societies around the world keep dairy livestock, drink a lot of milk each day, and are a whole lot healthier than the average American. The world's nomadic pastoralists and agro-pastoralists who drink large amounts of plain milk every day tend to have longer, stronger bones and sturdier teeth, lack osteoporosis, live longer, and have rosy complexions. The difference is the growth hormones and other dangerous additives that the modern milk industry feeds and injects cattle. It's not the MILK that causes disease, but the CHEMICALS in milk. I repeat: the MILK is GOOD for you, but the ADDITIVES are deadly. This book would have you throw out the baby with the bath, which is ridiculous! You don't have to stop drinking milk in order to avoid the problems caused by milk additives, if you simply buy milk that doesn't have any additives in it!!! Does that make sense, or does that make sense? It turns out this author wants people to stop drinking milk because he is an animal rights activist and has some sort of very odd ideological agenda involving abhorrence of milk in general. Milk is GOOD FOR YOU! Just make sure you drink organic milk that clearly states there are no growth hormones, antibiotics, etc. in it! Commercial milk with all the additives truly is deadly--so are a host of other foods with additives. But natural milk the way God made it is healthy and a perfect food. It is a shame that this author has written a book that is bound to confuse people about milk. Organic milk and raw milk do not have any chemicals in them, and are really good for you!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Keep a copy on your desk to educate friends & coworkers. Review: Succinct, enjoyable, quickly assimilated - a gratifying and possibly life-saving read. This book provides a fun and quick overview of the evidence and allegations against cow's milk. Don't be fooled by the cover and title, this book is too technical for young readers, although they'll enjoy the pictures while an adult absorbs and relates the information. For those unfamiliar with the huge and undeniable body of evidence against cow's milk, I hope this book to be an eye-opener that leads its readers to further research the topic for themselves. Every statement in this book is followed by a solid reference; mostly science journal references. Being only an overview, the volume of references in "Milk A - Z" touches only the tip of the iceberg. For those familiar with the mound of studies about milk's dangers, this book is a great overview, and brings up at least a few new points to nearly any health conscious reader. Because the evidence and number of studies against milk are so overwhelming, I've found it difficult to even begin to recall or portray all of the allegations to those uneducated. "Milk A - Z" will be a great book to have on hand for every friend or patient I attempt to begin educating about milk's dangers. My husband and I both plan to keep a copy out in open view on our desks at work to open the eyes of all lookyloos. "A - Z" even has a fun quiz at the end. I'm going to give a copy of this book to my child's school. They've already been resistant to my bringing in science journal studies to refute the milk propaganda they give my kid annually. I wonder whether they'll shelf this book? Linda Folden Palmer, DC Author "Baby Matters, What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Caring for Your Baby."
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: get informed Review: This book confirmed my suspicions about the lack of goodness in milk and the job the FDA is doing looking out for the consumer. After years of battling nasal congestion, allergies and stomach irregularities, I swore off milk, cheese and my all time favorite, ice cream, after hearing Mr. Cohen interviewed. Three weeks later I felt better than I had in years. Many Thanks!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A MUST READ Review: This book is an eye-opener. Robert Cohen explains in "layman-ese" why humans have no real need for cow's milk. He also demonstrates that the people in power in our government are more interested in lining their pockets than they are in our health. The conflicts of interest and levels of corruption within the FDA and USDA are frightening. I already had some education in nutrition and had my doubts about dairy products, but this book has raised another concern....I now think twice about ANY label that I read or about any "claims" made by our government or the mainstream media. Even those who are sucked in by the dairy industry advertising and are skeptical of dairy "critics" will be convinced with the overwhelming evidence that Robert Cohen presents. He is very thorough and has the documents and references to back himself up. Anyone who has a real interest in being healthy should read this book.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: SIMPLE & TRUE Review: Whoever doesn't believe in Mr. Cohen's book (*laughing*). Good Luck later on in life because no one really cares if you drink it or not. It is *YOUR* choice to drink milk and you'll soon enough be a victim to these diseases. On the otherhand, you can choose a safer choice and completely abolish dairy products. What about all the other third-world countries? Do they drink milk? I personally stopped dairy products and have noticed one improvement - NO ACNE. Keep drinking milk and make sure you come give me a *KISS* when you end up with osteoporosis, weak bones, kidney stones, calcium deficiency, hypertension, colon cancer. END
