Rating: Summary: Solid Effort and Good Introductory Text Review: This is an excellent starting text to learn something about DNA at a more quantitative level.
The book features many illustrations and schematics - over 100 - most clear and some in color.
It is a good introduction for someone with a chemistry background or the intelligent lay person wishing to make the first formal step in learning something about the genome and DNA bit at a more quantitative and detailed level.
I just finished reading the Matt Ridley book Genome and found this present book to be an excellent but expensive next step for a general reader, but it is an excellent text. If you just want pictures there are a number of other books. See my Listmania list on genetics.
