Summary: Well written book. Excellent intro to VLSI design.
Review: This is the best book that I have found on VLSI Design for beginners because it stresses the importance of the fundamentals as opposed to the answers. Although books by Rabaey and Weste are great books, this book is far superior for people interested in designing static and dynamic CMOS circuits correctly. I use the book in an Introduction to VLSI System Design class although the price is somewhat high.

The only thing I wish it had was more on the standard cell design. Since standard cell design is part of the VLSI design process. All things being said, this is still a fantastic book! It should be applauded!
