Review: This book is without question the best in its field. Murray and Nadel Textbook of Resp Med is a very good book but Fishmans Pulmonary Diseases and Disorders beats it easily. It is much easier to read than Murray/Nadel's book because it is not so condensed with small font and offcourse the illustrations and figures are much more clearer and more appealing to the eye (color used throughout the book, while Murray/Nadel book is black and white). Again the format of the book is much more attractive than Nadels book because this book actually has heading, subheadings while Nadels book clumps everything together like an essay which is very hard on the eye and is harder to follow. I actually think that there are another two pulmonary books that are better than Nadel/Murray book and they are: Clinical Respiratory Medicine by Jett and Spiro (2nd ed Mosby June 2004) which is in full color [superb book] and Baum's Pulmonary Diseases book (7th ed 2004). I strongly recommend Fishman's Pulmonary Diseases and Disorders for a great reference and if you want/need 2nd great book on resp. medicine then get Clinical Respiratory Medicine 2nd ed 2004 by Jett, Spiro [this is only one volume book designed for more quicker reading than Fishman's book].
