Rating: Summary: A Great Review for the NCLEX-RN & for Classes as well. Review: This book is organized into sections (e.g. Medical-Surgical Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, etc.). The topic reviews follow an easy to read outline form. I like the print (oddly enough) better in this text than in the Mosby NCLEX-RN review book. It is much easier on the eyes, and I found myself less likely to fall asleep while reading it. Each section of the text is followed by a 'Review Questions' section. Then an answer section--with the rationales--follows, so you can grade your test immediately without having to flip to some appendix in the back of the text. The author clearly put thought into the organization of this text.I highly recommend this book, not only as a review for the NCLEX-RN, but as a tool to be utilized alongside your course material. The outlined reviews help the reader to get the 'big picture' when studying for an exam, instead of getting caught up in all those details. The weak part of this package is it's CD-ROM. The review questions/practice tests are exactly the same questions that are in the text, except in a randomized order. There's really no point to a CD-ROM accompanying this text, since the CD-ROM doesn't really offer new information. I would like to see a follow-up edition that has different questions on the CD-ROM, rather than repeating the same questions in a different order. Aside from the CD-ROM though, this is a great review text. Good luck in school, and especially on the NCLEX-RN.
