Review: Multiple-Target Tracking by Sam Blackman is required reading for anyone seriously interested in the problem of target tracking. It covers a broad range of topics ranging from simple fixed coefficent trackers to sophisticated multiple hypothesis trackers. The reader is led through a series of discussions that provide a solid foundation for understanding and implementing solutions to the tracking problem. A particular strong point of the book is the numerous worked examples that demonstrate solutions to most of the key problems encountered when designing a tracking system. Although somewhat dated now, it still stands as the best overall reference for tracking practitioners.
