Rating: Summary: Readable guide to cytopathology Review: As a first-year pathology resident, I just started learning the complexities of cytopathology. I asked a number of pathologists to give me recommendations for a starter textbook. Cibas and Ducatman's book was mentioned more than once. Once I got a chance to use the book, I realized that it lived up to the hype! It is a readable introductory textbook that dispenses with obscure jargon and presents cytopathology in an understandable and organized manner. I highly recommend this text to any pathology resident, cytotechnologist, or other professional looking for a coherent introduction to cytopathology.
Rating: Summary: Big book in a small package Review: As a practiciing pathologist, I have spent thousands of dollars on disappointing cytology books for two and a half decades, so my expectations in this area are low. However, I just got the second edition of this book, and I am absolutely delighted. This is a small format book that fits well on the desk and in the hand, but it is crammed with great photomics and text that is short on academic BS and rich in diagnostic pearls. Frankly, I think this book blows DeMay and the other two-ton tomes out of the water.
