Summary: can be much better
Review: ... This book lacks much info to be considered adequate source for the "middle of the night" reference as one reviewver below or above states. Its also "weird" that the four reviewers before me are all from Michigan I believe that since the authors went through the efort of publishing this pocketbook, they should have given much more effort to make it more useful. There is almost no immediately helpful info in this book for the clinician RT or MD (especially if paying [money amount] for a spiral booklet which can easily be made at home for [money amount]) If you need to get a good pocket reference on MV, then you should get Oakes' Ventilator Management [came out in late 2002]; this book has at least 50 times more info [and useful too] than the booklet described here. Its amazing that Hasan and Pappas book sells pretty good ; it must have been those 4-5 reviewrs that did good promo job for the authors. Believe me, I'm not trying to bash this pocketbook. If you dont believe me, buy it and most likely wil regret it.

Summary: can be much better
Review: As as Emergency Physician I found this to be an excellent pocket reference. Although it is primarily geared to the PICU/ICU setting I found the book easy to read and extremely helpful. The principles addressed on acute ventilator management were excellent.

Summary: Great for all Health Care Professionals
Review: I found this book to be the most beneficial with respect to understanding respiratory care. I am currently a Pediatric resident and this book helped me on several occasions when I was on call and I am grateful to the authors. The book contains all relevant material and omits unnecessary detail that other books have had in abundance. This book could be frustrating for someone who has no understanding of ventilator support, however, would be more than adequate for any health care professionals including nurses, respiratory therapists or medical students looking to tie up the loose ends. After I purchased the book, several other residents I work with opted to purchase it as well. Good luck!

Summary: An upto the point handbook
Review: I think this handbook is the best available handbook in it's field. It is highly recommended as a tool for every resident, physician, nurse and respiratory therapist who deals with ventilators.
