Rating: Summary: Excellent companion to your university textbook. Review: Did you get stuck with a textbook (like Richard Johnsonbaugh's Discrete Mathematics - Fourth Edition) for your university Computer Science/ Discrete Mathematics course that just doesn't explain the concepts you're trying to learn? I definitely encourage you to purchase this book. However, along with this book you should also buy "2000 Solved Problems in Discrete Mathematics" in Schaum's Solved Problems Series. While the book I'm reviewing here has some problems and solutions, this additional book provides many variations of these problems, allowing you to look at problems from the different angles that will probably show up on your next exam.
Rating: Summary: Too Simple Review: I bought this book to help me survive my Discrete Math class, and ended up thoroughly disappointed. It's just too simple to be of any use. The examples it goes over are the obvious ones I've never had any trouble with, but more involved problems or complex proofs are nowhere to be found in the text. In the end I ended up relying on my course text much more than this, and I already had that book to begin with.
Rating: Summary: Not a 5 star! Review: I waited several weeks for this book to arrive, and was disappointed to see that its 'just another maths book', nothing special. I didn't find this book any easier to understand than any other maths book, I ended up refering to my other book more.
Rating: Summary: nice Review: This is an excellent book for the recreational mathematician, not too hard to follow but not always easy either. I particularly enjoyed the chapters on set theory, relations, functions, counting, graph theory, probability and properties of the integers. There are many solved exercises to assist you and supplementary exercises to test your knowledge of the material.

Rating: Summary: Overall, a good study aid Review: This study guide goes over all the topics you would expect it to and explains them more clearly than most texts can. I recommend this to all who plan to take a course in Discrete Mathematics.
