Summary: Finally....a Practical Book for Classroom Use!!
Review: I've read a lot of books for perfecting classroom practice but there are few that provide teachers with the actual "nuts and bolts" practicality that new teachers need. Literacy teachers who need a handle on the workshop model (both reading and writing) need look no further than "Workshops that Work". Having had the privilege to work alongside both these teachers and see them in action, I can tell you firsthand that they've managed to capture their classroom magic on the printed page- this is a tome that can stand proudly next to books by Calkins, Fletcher, Robb and other experts in the field!

Summary: Worth Purchasing!!
Review: This book is perfect for those teachers who want to start a Reader's and Writer's Workshop in their classrooms but are confused as to where to begin. The book basically tells you what mini lessons to teach and how to teach them the first month of school. This book is definitely worth purchasing!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Super, super book!
Review: This is a super book for teachers who are looking for concrete guidance on how to implement minilessons and the readers/writers workshop model. It is clearly written, well-organized, and easy to follow. I recommmend it!
