Summary: You can't go wrong with any book by Judy Herr
Review: All of her books are terrific. And while they may seem like they're exclusively for early childhood educators, they're not. Parents can get a lot out of them, too. I know I do.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: You can't go wrong with Judy Herr...usually.
Review: I bought this book because I LOVE Herr's _Creative Resources for the Early Childhood Classroom_--it's one of the best early childhood resource books on the market, and I've read a LOT of them! But this book isn't as good. Some of the activities are useful, and when you find one you want to carry out, it's very clearly written out for you: Developmental Goals, Materials, Preparation, Nurturing Strategies, Variation, and Additional Information. But that presumes you can find the activities you need to begin with. They are arranged by age and THEN developmental area, so you can't see a progression of activities within one developmental area without flipping and flipping and flipping through the book. Some of the appendices are good, but the bibliography of children's books is out-of-date, and I've already got PLENTY of recipes for bubble solution and play-dough, thanks. The daily note from class to home is the one I choose to use in my room, but I had to modify it a couple of times. This is a book worth buying, but it's not perfect.

Summary: Great for Infants and Toddlers!
Review: This book has been a wonderful tool for our infant and toddler program. It gives the break-down for the different developmental areas for these children. It provides wonderful goals and activities to help enhance the skills of the kids. Our caregivers found it irreplaceable to reach milestones for appropriate age groups. Regardless of where my teaching career takes me I will maintain a copy of this book in every center/program I work.

Summary: You can't go wrong with any book by Judy Herr
Review: This book is great for infant and toddlers. This book breaks down activites into developmental stages. That way you are not planning an activity that is not developmentally inappropriate for children.

Summary: Great book for mothers and teachers
Review: This is one of the best books that I have found for infants and toddlers. I really like the way that they not only break down the ages but also the developmental areas. The book makes it very easy to make lesson plans but it also makes it easy to pick out activties to do with your young child. These authors have done a wonderful job with this book and also the Creavtive Resources book for 3-5 year olds. I had the 3-5 year version along with others resource books that were made available to my teachers in a child care setting to use for making lesson plans and Creative Resources was the one that was used most often.
