Rating: Summary: Great Big Book 'O Worksheets Review: When I first started reading this book, I thought that Mr. Rogers really understood the idea of performance assessment, although upon closer examination, I realized that the book was a regurgitation of common sense. The theory and concepts were all part of my undergraduate work and while the assessments look good on the surface, they are not practical for true lesson design. While working on my masters in curriculum and instruction I attempted to design a lesson using this book as a reference and found it to be clumsy and unoriginal. If a teacher were to truly try to use this book as suggested for designing a classroom experience, they would never have time for teaching. I was also given the opportunity to listen to the author, Spence Rogers, in a conference call and feel that he does not have a grasp on the true classroom situation. He has other collaborators who have had recent and relevant classroom experiences, but after listening to his responses to our questions, I realized that the lead author of this book does not have the experiences necessary for me to trust his judgement.
