Review: I am only about half way through the text so take my two cents with a grain of salt to mix metaphors

Wen has a very nice selection of topics and the occaisional deep insight, but the lecture isnt always complete enough to learn from this text. I'm finding myself referring to a lot of other sources to bridge some holes in the text. from time to time he gets philosophic in a way that i find mildly obnoxious...sort of "and this could be the theory that explains everything" or "and this could be just the tip of the iceberg" (those arent quotes from the text btw.

so i'd recommend picking this book up but after you read some other many body or field theory books...i like nagosa for a good chunk of the material, but there is no one book with the same content.
