Summary: Chemistry Made Simple, a scientific approach
Review: Chemistry Made Simple is a proven guide to the fundamentals of chemistry. Chemistry is a science that involves quantitative and qualitative thinking. This book encourages both. Chemistry is not a pure mathematical exercise but an observation of the interactions of mass and energy in their manifold forms and their practical applications. This book is a clairvoyant approach to these interactions and applications. Highly recommended as an introduction to the science for all ages.

Summary: Waste of Time!
Review: Do not waste your money. This book is horrible. It is severely outdated, it does not even provide the complete Table of Elements. The Metric system they show is not very accurate, nor does it show many applicable conversions. They give you one example per unit. It is a very confusing book, severely lacking in information.

I am currently in an advanced chemistry class, and this book has done nothing for me. All of the research in it, is for Junior High level. This is not a refresher for college classes. So far, I have not made use of any of the information provided inside.

I do not recommend it, you would be better off purchasing a used textbook with useful information that you will actually use.

Summary: Chemistry Made Simple, a scientific approach
Review: Good things about this book: The explanations are reasonably easy to understand and the topics fit well with a chemistry class.

Bad things about this book: The material is badly outdated and some topics aren't covered in enough depth.

If you're a high school student looking for a very basic reference, this one is easy enough to read that you should do OK. However, if you need something up to date that covers things in greater depth, you may want to try something else.

Summary: Concise Review: A good reference book
Review: I enjoyed the first 9 chapters of basic chemistry but my interest slowed with the steady diet of formulas. I think it's an excellent reference book and a book that would go very well with an outline course. I miss some of the examples given in standard books. But a very good primer.

Summary: Great as a Supplement!
Review: Love this book! Yes, this text is outdated in areas. But basic theories in Chem have not changed. This is a concise and interesting summary of information that is often stretched out in reg. textbooks so much so that you can find yourself distracted or tired before you even get to the heart of the matter. In the areas where it is outdated (such as not all elements being listed), it is easy to switch over to your regular text for the updated info. No big deal!! If you like info summaries for when you are experiencing brain overload, this is a great choice!

Summary: Chemistry Made Simple
Review: This book is fabulous! I needed to brush up on chemistry, a class I hadn't taken in over eight years. This book lays things out in a way that's easy to understand and actually interesting. If I had this book in college, I would've done much better in the sciences. Now I need to understand Physics and I'm going straight for Physics Made Simple!
