Summary: Not bad...but
Review: Blum has a tendency to be too wordy (ie. 30 pages on a subject, when 10-15 would have worked), especially when Blum doesn't take into consideration that most of these principles involve common sense. And now I appreciate Glannon's Torts and Civil Procedure hornbooks so much more. Glannon got to the point and gave frequent, relevant, excellent examples. Also, Blum gives good Examples to mull over, but lousy, meandering Explanations.

Summary: Great as usual!
Review: Buy this and High Court summaries keyed to your casebook and you're set. I also used the Gilberts and Sum and Substance 1L tapes while commuting to school--the best preparation with the least effort. AWESOME!

This book made a dry 1L subject VERY interesting and it held my attention better than the Civ Pro E & E for instance.
Great examples, good material, written in EASY to understand language--why don't we get that in the stuffy casebooks??

BUY it, it will make the concepts easier to understand and remember. Strongly recommended buy!

Summary: This is a good one
Review: Good book, lots of fun, makes contracts... well, not easy, but not so tedious. Recommended by the prof, too.

Summary: Great Contracts Supplement
Review: I found this book very useful to help understand both the law and how it applies to real world situations. I always found myself going to it after class and after reading, which in turn helped me get the grade I wanted. It makes the subjects a lot easier to understand. I also really liked the charts, which can easily help you visualize how a certain concepts work (especially UCC 2-207).
I would highly recommend this to any 1L.

Summary: Most helpful study guide
Review: I loved this book. Within just two weeks of reading this book I had a contract out on my mother in law and two contracts out on my brother in law. The book gives numerous ideas on how to contact nefarious italian guys and negotiate contracts at a reasonable cost.

Summary: Taught me Contracts!
Review: I was not particularly impressed w/Blum. I feel that contracts is a complicated subject, but this did not assist me at all in my course. Granted, it could've been my teacher, but I feel that Blum essentially contradicted what my teacher said, which I found confusing about contract law, considering that it's supposedly cut and dry. I got a little use of it when learning restitution and reliance, and a friend told me it helped her w/the parol evidence rule, but I can honestly say most of it just presented huge questions that my teacher was not even raising in class or through the reading. So if you choose a contracts supplement, use it w/caution...you could go down a very bad road by choosing and relying upon the wrong supplement.

Summary: I don't know why this book is out-of-print!
Review: This book solidified my understanding of Contracts in a way that no other study aid I examined did. This book was AMAZING! I would recommend NO OTHER study aid for Contracts than this book. Order it, even if it is out-of-print (unless they're publishing a new edition).

Summary: Probably the Best Contracts Study guide out there period
Review: This is a great book - I agree with the previous review - Blum does meander & his humor is wasted on those who have lost all capacity for humor ( law students ) - when I read funny - I think I wish this guy would put this effort into concise. Regardless - this is the best book on Contracts out there. The problem hypos are based on casebook cases. - Emmanuels & Gilberts bite ( but they do have evey case you havent read ). Probably a close tie would be the Sum & Substance by Brain - this is almost as good as Blum - better on some topics like the Parol Evidence rule - has a flow chart etc..

Summary: Arizona State Law Student
Review: This study aid does an excellent job of explaining every contracts topic covered in the first year. It incorporates many diagrams and charts to help explain tricky concepts and also explains many main cases from the textbook. This book is so complete that it should be required reading.

Summary: Excellent Contracts Treatise
Review: This treatise is an excellent study aid. Mr. Blum does a superb job of covering basic Contracts material. There are no omissions as far as I know from the book, and I have not found any mistakes. Blum goes into just enough depth to make sure that you understand the material, and the examples and explanations section is extremely helpful. I wholeheartedly recommend this treatise.
