Rating: Summary: The Psychology of Action Review: I have found this book to be a great reference for goal theory. Having been published in 1996, it provides another source for following the evolution of goal theory, after such books as Maehr and Braskamp's, "The Motivation Factor", and Locke and Latham's, "A Theory of Goal Setting & Task Performance". The contributing authors read like a who's who of contemporary goal setting and achievement research. It has been very helpful in my research, it collects into one book current information that I spent considerable time finding one article at a time from several journals. I'm in Sport Psychology and I have concluded it is a must have.
