Summary: Title doesn't properly reflect subject matter
Review: Not that this is really a bad book, maybe a little dated, but the title really doesn't reflect the subject matter. This book deals more with the math and science (formulas and equations) behind "live" studio recording philosophies/practices than it does 'Audio' "PRODUCTION". There is some useful information for someone wanting to design their own multi-faceted video and audio recording studio (in the professional realm), but hardly anything geared towards home studio applications. Part of the reason I bought this book was because I saw it had a section on acoustics, and I am currently trying to read up on everything I can about acoustically treating my home studio. The "acoustics" chapter of this book dealt almost entirely with wind noise in air ducts and tonal vibrations due to large blower motors (that you might encounter in a large studio facility).

If you are looking for a more in-depth disection of the math behind condenser mics and line-signal paths, etc., then this is the book for you. If you are looking for real-world applications for the common "Home Studio" then I would suggest another read.
