Summary: A Univied, Consistent Approach
Review: Much of the recent literature on digital signal processing has concentrated on the digital aspects of the task. The result is a surplus of books on the digital signal processing chips and programming techniques.

In the real world you have a signal and you need it digitized, or you have some digital data and you need a real life signal that you can send out somewhere. The real world refuses to become digital, its analog.

The literature on how to do this aspect has been sparse. And most of what does exist is in the form of a book by many authors. Their different writing style, different assumptions on the background of the readers and the inevitable disconnects between chapters make a consistent flow impossible.

In this book Dr. Temes, a professor at Oregon State brings a solid theoretical background to the writing. Dr. Schreier, a senior design engineer at Analog Devices brings an understanding of what is possible today. Both men have a wealth of experience in the subject and an ability to convey their experience and knowledge to the reader.

Summary: excellent introductory text
Review: This book is the first introductory text in this complex field. It has been written by two of the most popular researchers in the field of delta sigma modulators. I'd say this book is a must for readers who want to understand the basic concepts first and then delve deeper into the subject.
