Review: Initially I checked this book out from the library but after reading it just had to buy a copy for my shelf.

I love the dictionary-like format of the book. THE MONROE DOCTRINE is an easy read but not an empty one. Each lesson ends with a question and answer that really makes you evaluate your own leadership style and think about what you can do to become (or continue to be) an effective boss. While this book, like many others on leadership, easily could have been preachy or self-righteous, the impression I get of Monroe is that of a real person, which makes it easier to accept its teachings.
