Summary: Dynamic and inspiring book
Review: "Having read about Working with Americans (which until then I hadn't realised was a subject!) I wanted to get it to help me understand the owrking relationdhip I had witn an American colleague. I was then fortunate enough to find that Allyson Stewart-Allen was our course leader for a course on Strategic Business Planning. She is as dynamic, enthusiastic and inspiring as this brilliant book. It is fun, enjoyable, informative and educational. I only hope they write many, many more books.!

Summary: Working with Americans
Review: A must-read regardless of which side of "the pond" you are on. The book is an insightful examination of the human side of business transactions--the personal relationship of the parties that make it happen and how best to develop and nurture those relationships across cultural differences. If you have clients or prospects abroad, this handy quick-read reference guide should always be in your brief case.

Summary: Don't Leave Home Without It!
Review: Finally, a book by business people, for business people, about that most intangible of business success factors -- interpersonal relations across borders and cultures. The authors have succeeded in filling a long-empty niche with usable, practical information in an entertaining format. They have ever so deftly skewered traditional complacency about a subject too long pooh-poohed as touchy-feely or unimportant because it is "unmeasurable," and they have brought it center stage. I especially recommend this to Americans venturing into the international arena (perhaps not its intended audience) where we are currently taking such a drubbing. Knowledge about how the rest of the world views us is a formidable strategic weapon when planning cross-border business. So, my advice about this excellent book is, "don't leave home without it."

Summary: Useful book
Review: For once it wasn't a book of just theory. I learned things that I could use. Ways to approach my new clients. Glad I found the book. It's easy to read and I loved the cartoons.

Summary: Its all true
Review: I read this book just prior to my first business trip to the USA. Not only is the book enjoyable to read but I found it fascinating to recognise so many of the insights that the book contains whilst I was in the US. Highly recommended.

Summary: Must Have Resource
Review: Managers from both sides of the ocean will benefit from immersing themselves in this corporate survival handbook. Sensible advice for doing business with Americans. An easy to follow, intelligent format looking at historical and cultural contexts and covering all aspects of this tricky and often glossed over endeavour.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: It helps to see how Americans are perceived
Review: The book is a great collection of practical advice from two experienced authors. Unlike some business books, this one is written by people who understand both Americans and non-Americans that do business with them. As an American, I learned valuable information about how we are seen by others, especially Europeans. This knowledge will help in my international business and cultural interactions. I highly recommend the book for Americans and for those doing business with Americans--even those with years of this international experience--will benefit from the book's insights.

Summary: Another great book
