Summary: EXCELLENT SOURCE FOR TEACHING & LEARNING
Review: Another book purchased to have in our office library for management and my assistant who is taking classes to become a certified accountant. She was excited to receive this book for it helped her understand some of the terms and questions not plainly spelled out in her accounting class. I found the review of this book to benefit myself as a refresher course. I plan to have our President, who is unwilling to learn accounting principles, read over this book to help him better understand the importantance of good financial practices. He thinks accounting is the least important part of his business. What will it take to have him be willing to learn? Hopefully this book will give him an easy way of learning without being over the top of his ability to understand accounting is very important. I think it will. No doubt about it. You will be glad to have this book in your library of accounting materials for home or business practices.

Summary: A very concise intro to accounting basics
Review: Essentials of Accounting provides a precise definition of many of the terms used in "the language of business," outlines basic rules and uses practical examples such as interpreting financial statements in the "exhibits" booklet. This book is intended as a self-paced introduction, thus is as "fast" a way to learn Accounting basics as you want to make it.

Review: Having recieved and MBA a few years ago. This workbook was very helpful as a refresher on the key concepts with some very interesting and compeling leads for further study. One should have a some prior knowledge of basic accounting concepts, if not some of the topics may be overwhelming. The workbook reviews topics which can be very helpful to individuals who may be considering P&L responsibilities. The workbook clearly and concisely explains the relationship between the essential financial statements. The book makes the field of Accounting more interesting than my previous opinions. I would definitely recommend this book considering the conditions mentioned.

Summary: Great for a beginner, Save your $ if you know any accounting
Review: I bought this book in order to review prior to heading off to business school this fall. I majored in finance as an undergrad which involved two accounting classes. This limited background made this book of limited use as it was very basic in nature. If you have any accounting background, I would recommend you save your money and purchase a more advanced text. This one took me approximately 4 hours to get through.That being said, this book is fantastic for anyone with a limited accounting background. It is concise, well-written, and does a good job of explaining the basic concepts.

It was also a valuable reference tool throughout school, and a great way to prepare for final exams. Learning accounting can be tough, but this book helps make it bearable.

Review: I purchased this book as a way to learn about financial statements. My previous knowledge was only that of knowing what a balance sheet looked like, but not what it actually told me. This book took me from only having very limited knowledge of the accounting world, to feeling competent in discussing financials with my peers.

Review: It's the first time I study accounting, and I found this book very good. If you have a background other than finances and accounting, this is a great book to catch up!
