Summary: Refueling for the depleted!
Review: Anyone with the slightest ambition can get caught in the trap of the energizer bunny... you keep going and going and going. Before long you've lost sight of not only where you were headed, but why you were headed there. This fog of confusion is lifted after following just a few of the easy but profoundly helpful exercises Ms. Godwin offers to readers who want to feel refueled. Clarification and newfound energy will be your reward for reading this straightforward, and accessible read.

Summary: practical and inspritational
Review: finally - a book that doesn't lecture women about what they should be doing more of, or less of, but instead asks all the right questions. Intelligent, insightful, and compassionate, this guide does it all. You can expect to find pragmatic and actionable ideas for your career, for your balance and for your thoughts. It has both great depth and instant accessibility. I could not recommend it more highly.

Summary: Great advice for men as well as women in this book!
Review: I picked up my wife's copy of this book and she let me keep it for myself a few days. Thanks Debi! What a help to anyone who has lost the spark of their career and/or personal life is floundering while trying to find it again!

Ms. Godwin demonstrates in simple, common sense examples how easily we can become derailed from a more fulfilling life and career, even with the best of intentions toward finding a healthy balance between and within both. She then supports these insights with dozens of practical questions and suggestions that help us see where we made wrong steps and guide us toward correcting the mistakes.

This book has made a big differnce in how I approach my professional life, to the benefit of both my own happiness and the care of my patients. I now keep a copy of "From Burned Out to Fired Up" in my waiting room where many people are immediately drawn to it. I guess burnout is everywhere.

Thanks you Ms. Godwin!

Summary: Warm & Energizing Antidote for Today's Busy Women
Review: Leslie Godwin's advice will hit home for so many of today's women, and, I believe, inspire them all. With case studies, e-mails, and lessons from a variety of women of different ages and in different careers, Leslie shows how to deal with the burnout that so many of us experience in different phases of life. From parenting issues to workplace challenges, there are many parts of the book that may speak to you.

Her exercises and worksheets show you how to take action and point you in the right direction to find the path to your passion. Her insightful comments will make you stop and think about things that you may never have reflected on before, and get you to see things in a new and productive light.

I highly recommend this book, and am confident you will find it worth many times its price! This is a book to keep, savor, and refer to again and again as you reach for your goals, even as those goals change over time.

Summary: Ready to find the passion and meaning - You'll find it here
Review: The cover grabbed me and the content kept me! I am a wife, mother, teacher, educational consultant,... Leslie Godwin gave me the tools to center all of them! I've read MANY "woman's self help" books, the tools Leslie gives, helped me find the energy, passion, and interest in life I had many years ago.

I've been experiencing professional loneliness, feeling as if I would get on and chair more committees, get more degrees, lead more workshops I'd be fulfilled; I was searching for something that was missing. But the something missing in my life was my true self. Leslie's journal exercises helped me rediscover my meaning and passion, and get my life back.

The truth in this book comes directly from the reader - I got so much out of it because I put myself into it.

Summary: A Book for All Stages of Your Life
Review: Things change in life, and then it's time to move
on to the next stage. I wish I'd had Godwin's book
when I made my transitions from professional to at-home
mom, and then from full-time mom to mom and part-time
worker. It would have saved me endless floundering,
panicking, and dead ends. Godwin takes you calmly
and systematically through the steps necessary
to identify your priorities and realize them
for the next change.

I am using it now to plan the next transitions to make
as my kids get older. It's a totally readable "how-to"
book in the best sense: it includes wisdom, resources,
and other people's stories to inspire you to get the
joy and meaning back in your own life.
