Go find a different profession, earn a decent living wage, leave the door open so you can transfer a 2-year-degree to a 4-year-institution 20 years from now, and with your increased earning power, indulge your madness of kitties and puppies on the side.
Considering there is nothing much else with hard information available, the book is worth a read. Buy it in conjunction with the Admission Requirement book, read statistics carefully, and it will be enlightening.
