Rating: Summary: Marketing--a good text book Review: "Marketing: Connection with Customers" is a good text book. It basically easily to understand. It has comprehendable deffinitions and text. The only problem I have with this book is that the index is not complete. It is very difficult to find something using this index since many of the items are not listed, but on the whole I would encourage use of this book.
Rating: Summary: DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME Review: By far, this is one of the worst "academic" books I have read in my four years as a college student. Harrell and Frazier's use of misappropriate and ethnocentric examples detract from their attempt to teach.

Rating: Summary: Text Evaluation/Fohey Review: Does this book has a "the market plan pro software" behind of the text book? If it does have one. May I purchase only the cd-rom? Thanks for reading.regarding, Cindy Nguyen
Rating: Summary: A study of the four P's Review: I am a student at Hannibal-LaGrange College and our required text for my Marketing class was Marketing Connecting with Customers. This text was very easy to understand and comprehend. I was able to read the chapters in one sitting, and understand what i read. The useful features are the many graphs and charts in the text, they parallel to what the readings for the chapter are. As to will I keep this text after the course MKT 313 is over, probably not, why? Well, since my major is Accounting and General Business Administration, the concepts are ones I will not need as a reference. The topics that were covered in class and learned for the tests will always be with me. I will not need this text as a reference. Sometimes the material in the chapters was a little too much drawn out in length. This text was fairly interesting in comparison to texts that I have used in the past and in other current courses.
Rating: Summary: Marketing Applies to Everyone Review: I am in a Principles of Marketing class as requirement for a degree in accounting. The book made the concepts associated with the various marketing strategies very applicable and easy to understand. I found that the many figures and charts were key to understanding the material. The book used mainstream illustrations to help the concepts "hit close to home." For example, the book uses pop-icons like Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, and Oprah Winfrey as illustrations for various concepts. I found that the chapter reviews were very helpful in preparing for tests. The book covered the four p's of marketing thoroughly. It clearly emphasized the proper ethics of the profession. This turned out to be one of my favorite courses this semester. It would be profitable for someone of any major. It taught me how to try to sell myself to other people.
Rating: Summary: Principles of Marketing, Dr. John Schafer. Review: I found this book to be very informative and easy to understand. The information really gets the reader involved by discussing topics that relate to what is going on in the real world. The advertisments that are used also add to the book. The ads are easily recognizable from what is out there right now, such as the "Got Milk?" ads. One of the chapters that I particularly liked was Connecting With Customers: Understanding Customer Behavior. This chapter discusses why consumers behave differently in different situations.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. Before I read this book I knew about marketing, but after reading it I know so much more about it. It helps people to understand how to be able to use Marketing effectively in everyday business. I plan on keeping this book for a reference guide in case I forget something or have a question about marketing. This book did a great job of explaining concepts, by giving good definitions of the concepts, and by making sure that it's points are understood. There is some kind of graph or figure on almost every page to help explain the concepts. I liked chapter two on Customer Satisfaction and LOYALTY. I thik that if you keep the customer happy at almost any cost then they will be a customer for life. This book has influenced my ability to understand people and what they want and how to give it to them.
Rating: Summary: Marketing book review Review: I recently used this book for a Principles of Marketing Class. I found that it was a useful guide for the the class. I found the reading material to be excellent. I liked all of the examples that were used and I found it easier to understand key concepts after reading them. I liked how the authors chose to put the key terms in the margins and I also found the summaries to be useful in studying for the tests. However, I did not like the charts and graphs that were used. I thought that they were useless and confusing. Overall, I gave this book a good rating because it was easy to understand and follow.
Rating: Summary: Excellent and Informative for my first Marketing class Review: Marketing: Connecting with Customers has been an excellent and informative book for my first college Marketing class. I have been debating whether or not to major in Business Marketing. This book has helped me to think I would like to be apart of our Marketing department. I like that this book is fairly new and updated. The charts, lists, and especially the Internet links are easy to read and very convenient. I have been able to go to the Internet sites and learn extra information that my teacher would not be able to spend time on. My mom is the Dean of Business at a college; so I have been able to suggest this book and varies sites that may help her and her department. I really like the Connecting with Diversity and Case Studies sections. It is always beneficial to understand the information in a real life situation. Hope you enjoy Marketing: Connecting with Customers also.
