Rating: Summary: A Book For the Philosopher Salesman. Review: Mr. Snyder has done a wonderful service for all of those who have entered the business world with "merely" a College of Arts and Science degree. "How to Mind-Read Your Customer" is definitely a book for the thinking salesperson. It is refreshing to see a perspective where one can apply what they have learned from many of the great thinkers such as Nietzsche, Freud, Jung, and even Joyce; and then apply their knowledge in a system that gives a great service to the customer, and puts income in your pocket. This book is the answer to "What can you do with a Philosophy Major?" The answer: "Sell a ton!" What the business world needs is to have salespeople who tell their story, first as a better listener, and then speak it with a more effective communication style. Snyder helps develop both of these skills with the familiar DISC system. However, he then takes you to the next step and asks you to develop a value system to which you can be held accountable. Imagine a salesforce with a mission and a moral conscience! A great read.

Rating: Summary: A must-read for anyone in sales or customer service Review: Understanding that different types of customers have different needs and expectations (from YOU) DURING the process of a sale - David Snyder spells it out, and makes it all make sense. He is right on the money when it comes to defining and describing the different types of customers, as well as what makes them "tick", and ultimately "buy". Understanding and meeting their psychological needs is as important if not more important than WHAT you are selling. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is in sales or customer service of any type.
