Summary: Actually this is a small difference...
Review: I guess the author chose a different publisher for cost reasons because I have read both his books and they are exactly the same just that this one is half the price!
The advice he gives is very effective. No need to feel nervous when speaking with those tough-talking COWARDS hiding behind the phone lines as they say things which you know they would never say to your face. The fact of the matter is that there is a law on the books which stops them from phoning you but you have to say the magic words... "I want you to stop calling me, cease all phone communications with me" It's that simple. Don't have conversations with these people, as they work with scripts. They have answers to every possible excuse you can come up with. So just tell them to stop calling even before they start then hang-up in their face. You might get one that calls back, to whom you simply say, "I told you to stop harassing me but your disobeying me so from now on these calls will be taped." Belittle them and mean it! Don't lose your sense of humor. Continue with- "You want to help me pay my bills? Ok, keep calling so that I can sue you for the exact same amount!" You have nothing to lose; your credit report can't get any worst. You already had a bad mark the moment you fell behind by 30 days.
Remember, they chose to give you credit voluntarily; you didn't twist their arms for it. They are the ones sending millions of "pre-approved" applications to people across the country, sucking the lifeblood out of people who just happened to fall onto hard times.
Back during Age of Sail whenever a ship would enter into a new port, there was always a handful of creditors waiting to extend credit to the young and gullible poor sons of mothers. Many would end-up penniless after months of hard work in rough seas.

Summary: The Most Honest Book You'll Find
Review: I have bought other so-called "credit repair" books, and they were baloney. This book is short, concise and to the point. There is nothing else you need. If any book promises you anything else, they are pulling your leg.

I saw this author speak at a seminar, and he rocks. He is a well-known consumer advocate, and tells it exactly like it is.

I highly recommend this book, obviously. He discusses a variety of different topics, and how to handle bankruptcy issues, charge offs, divorce matters, and yes collection accounts.

I did also read his book Collection Agency Harassment. It is entirely different. Obviously some stuff overlaps, but certainly not all of it.

Summary: Very Helpful.
Review: I read this book and I think it is much better than the other books I have seen on repairing your credit. The forms and letters in the book are extremely helpful. I think the author spells out exactly how go about rehabilitating your credit. I think many people think there is an easy quick fix. Writing a few letters may put some people off, but not me. You have to follow the simple procedures in this book, and you'll be back to getting your credit report in better shape. I highly recommend this book to ANYONE with a concern about their credit.

Summary: DISAPPOINTING
Review: This book was not as I expected. It only explained how the credit agencies work, not much info on how to actually repair credit and did not give many examples on which forms to use or the procedure for removing negative information. I almost sent it back for a refund.
