Summary: I talked to the man himself
Review: I recently retired from the US Army and am currently selling cars in Texas. I have personally used some of the techniques described in this book and they WORK!
The instructions are easy to understand and laden with common sense solutions to everyday on the lot challenges. When things get slow I read this book. I'm on my 4th read, and every time I read it I retain something else that much more. I emailed the author and he responded personally with a phone call that made my day.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who wished to increase his/her sales. It increased my sales the day after reading this book, and it is helping me daily basis overcome obstacles to closing the deal.

Summary: Wow! Just what I needed. Answered the question...
Review: . . .not the meaning of life. No this and no other book out there does that. If you're looking for a book that sells the cars for you or gives you the secrets to automotive richess, keep looking. No book does that. It takes work. Lots of it, and some great advice and guidance will help. This book gives that advice. Like a friend, chatting with you, this book opens your eyes to what is going on and what can be acheived. I've been selling cars for 10 plus years and am grateful for this book finally coming out. Thanks!

Summary: This book hasn't helped me at all
Review: After reading this book and trying some of the tactics proposed my sales have droped I lost one customer by using one concept offerd in the book. I hope I can spare you the waste of time and money I have suffered.I loaned the book to my manager and he said after all the years he has spent in the car business this is the worse training he has ever seen offered up.

Summary: Excellent book for new AND experienced car Salesmen!
Review: I have been in the business for over 4 years,I have been down for a year due to an accident so I decided to check this out to refresh my mind on the whole car selling process for when I get back on my feet...my first reading was straight through! All the steps & concepts are workable and very useful. The car business can be a wonderful place to be,I'm under 25 & have made as much as $12K in one month, not bad for someone with no college,eh?

This book takes you through all the steps needed to effectively close a sale, and focuses on a mistake most newbies make...rushing through the sale! Mr.Ziegler states that you should never skip a step just so you can have the customer in & out, sure you may get the customer to buy 20 minutes after shaking hands with him,,,but think back on the customers you rushed into your office only to have them back out of the deal!I have made that mistake as well and just chalked it up to a flaky Mr. Customer...NOT SO! It was my fault for trying to rush the sale and skipping steps.

That is only one of the lessons you will learn reading this book, follow these steps presented and use the advice given and I promise you will do very well.

This book will teach you an effective systematic approach to selling an Automobile from start to finish, never be confused again by not knowing what needs to be done from you!...you will now be able to take control of your customer as well as take control of your income!

Good luck & happy reading, you won't be disappointed in this book!

Summary: Learn what you are capable of. Make the money you deserve.
Review: I wanted a change. The kids are in school and I found myself bored. After reading the ads every day, cleaning the house for the billionth time and seeing the same people who I don't actually get along with yet they passify my time, I decided to do something about it. I took a job selling cars at the begining of the school year (August 2004). I didn't do poorly, but I was lost. Being a female, nobody would help me. Maybe it was being a new salesperson. I found a website that offered this book, read it and filled in the blanks. There is so much information that isn't spoken in the car business. I was thinking of quiting after the first month when I picked this book up. Not only didi I finish the month of September strong, my October I was the top sales person. Everybody wants to know what "my secret" is. I just told them that I listen well. I'll tell you, though, this book is it. Clear, clean, usable, friendly read. If you are now in the car business or have ever wanted to change careers to try something new, buy this book before you do anything else. Read the book as it tells you some things I wish I knew before I took the job at the dealership I am at now. Then, make the leap. Buy the book and make the leap the same month. Good luck and see you on a dealer trade!

Summary: We are in the greatest industry in the world!
Review: I've been in the automotive industry approaching 20 years. Initially, I became a "car salesman" with the idea that I would sell cars until "something better came along." I don't remember if it was my first or second paycheck that hooked me. I do know that the high I received from working the deal has grown in addiction. I am in the greatest business in the world. It's a business where we write our own paycheck. Our habits and behaviors dictate what type of sales person we are.

This book was taken from a collection of notes which I keep daily. After repeating myself to every new sales person I trained for a couple years, I finally decided to file my training agenda and notes to be used with future hires. Over ten years of sales meetings, individual role play, and working as a closer, shutting deals with some incredible characters have gone into the making of this book.

I appreciate your consideration for purchasing "Cars and People." There has not been anything available that would offer a sales person the answer as to exactly HOW to gain control of their customer or WHAT a true commitment is. Not until now.

This is our "How to Sell a Car" book. It is long over due. Enjoy!

Summary: This is the cream of the crop! Best sales book ever(period)
Review: The time has come for a book like this. I met Mr Ziegler when he trained my sales staff in March. Much of what he shared in his training came directly from his book (which was in rough draft form at the time). He mailed a copy to me and I received it a week ago, read it, and smiled in doing so. I'm ordering enough copies for all 6 dealerships employees. Our gross front and back is up $800 per copy since his training! There is nothing better than understanding what Ziegler has to share. Buy it in bulk and give it as gifts to your employees. You'll make money doing so! Thanks "Tony Z" for your help.

Summary: Nothing better for the automotive business! Must read!
Review: This book has what it takes to help both the sales professional become great and the new-be become a sales pro. The way the stories and examples are approached gives the reader easy clarification and encourages behaviors that end with a simple close of the deal. Though it is aimed at the car salesperson, I think anyone involved in sales should read this book. Amazing how the power of behavioral reference gives strength to the over all deal and negotiating. "A close with gross is a natural end to a wonderful presentation." No truer words. Thanks for helping me better myself.
