Summary: Red Book is Red Hot!
Review: Gitomer's Little Red Book is not really very little. It's full of BIG ideas for people who need to sell in order to eat. Gives reader not only great ideas, but specific examples. What I really appreciated was he also gives us extra support and information through is website. This is a must buy for those who are serious about selling.

Summary: Great book - Super ideas for all!
Review: I highly recommend this book to just about everyone - but especially those in sales or thinking about going into sales. While many of the ideas are ones discussed in various books and lectures, I found this particular book to be an easy read - very concise with great illustrations. Mr. Gitomer makes some very good points - but most important is the underlying fact that people want to buy - so are you the one they will be buying from or not?

The price of this book is very fair and provides good value for the money! Don't be surprised if you find yourself keeping this super reference at your desk or in your briefcase!

Summary: I've learned a lot, BUT...
Review: I'm not in sales and I can see that I can adapt a lot of ideas here to a project on which I'm working. Here's my only beef. Gitomer is "all about value." And when I looked at this book I thought, "gosh, he really practices what he preaches by giving all this extra stuff at his website." Then I went to the website and the first four times I put in the words he put in the book for accessing extra info from his website, all I got were the material that was right there in the book. Word for word.

Of course, he doesn't have to give anything away but having offered to do so, I think he should follow through on his promise. So now I'm wondering about the value of what he did provide. Is this really good info on how to sell??? I'm not sure anymore. He doesn't seem to be walking his talk and it's soured my whole approach to the book.

Summary: Excellent as always from Gitomer - readable and usable!
Review: I've always liked Gitomer's sales teaching .. this book has a ton of nuggets that aren't in his other materials and the format makes it extremely easy to refer back to over and over again..

witty and well-written for modern salespeople and marketers, Gitomer's latest gets 2 thumbs up from me -- nice work!

Summary: The Salesman's Constitution
Review: If there is a better designed book, I have yet to see it. This is a little 219-page gem with cloth boards and rounded corners, a pictorial cover, a stitched binding that opens flat, four colors of text on high quality matte finish coated paper, hard-hitting cartoons sprinkled throughout, and a ribbon bookmark. With all these extras it should cost at least 50% more, but it's the content that makes it worth many times its $20 price (or $14 here on Amazon). The design makes it beg to be carried around, opened, read, and digested, and that's exactly why it will be valuable beyond the price.

I'm not the type of salesman this book is directed to, but if I were I'd make it the constitution of my professional life. And if I were the head of a sales team, I'd make it mandatory reading. Every sales principle is delivered with rifle-like accuracy, and every objection to these principles is demolished with hurricane force.

And yet, I hasten to add that we're all salesmen (or saleswomen), according to Gitomer, because to be successful the first thing we have to sell is ourselves. "Many salespeople believe that customers buy their products and services first. Incorrect. The first thing prospects buy is the salesperson. The first sale made is you" (page 199). He's right. He tells us how to do that, and that's why this book deserves readership far beyond the world of salesmen.

Summary: Gitomer Delivers Big
Review: If you think you've heard it all, seen it all and been there when it comes to keeping a positive mental attitude and making 10 more sales calls a day, Gitomer's Little Red Book of Selling is for you. It's not the same old cr@* here! Gitomer made me realize that I do make dumb mistakes like spend all my marketing money selling to new prospects instead of old clients. I learned dozens of ways to change my sales efforts--thank goodness Gitomer doesn't charge a commission.

Summary: Little Book; Big Ideas
Review: Looking for a spark to re-ignite your passion for selling?

Jeffrey Gitomer, author of The Sales Bible, has produced another gem. His lively style and straight talk make this book an inspirational motivator for salespeople who need to have a fire lit under them.

Combining professionalism with humor, he presents more than a dozen principles for sales greatness.

Gitomer combines colorful language with a punchy style to put the fun in the fundamentals of selling.

Summary: Very good. Short. Sweet. To the point! Thanks for the read!
Review: Said it in my title. This book wastes little time getting to the point. Very well put together. Some points are well played but do not relate well to my business. For anything in the automotive sales business it is close, but I'd encourage "Cars and People; How to Put the Two Together." Thanks again for this good read.

Summary: EXCELLENT!!
Review: The only thing I'm upset with in this book is that I didn't get it here, I paid full price at a bookstore because I HAD TO HAVE IT RIGHT THEN!
This is a book I will carry around in my briefcase, it is full of insightful tips and great selling strategies, I really like the "straight" talk too, Jeffrey Gitomer say's it like it is and I have already found that he's right.

Summary: Book Design is Why I Wanted to Buy.....
Review: Thus begins the lessons of Jeffrey Gitomer's 12.5 Principles of Sales Greatness.
This book was almost irresistible to me as it sat on the shelf. It reached out to me saying "I am different than the rest! I am valuable! Read me, buy me, recommend me to your friends!"

This book is meant to be studied - used - and studied some more. I appreciate the "12.5" number of principles Gitomer uses (different, again)... which he suggests the reader read once and then review and apply.

The reader could literally take this captivating book and create his or her own course of selling study from the pages within. Gitomer's enthusiastic voice rings off the pages and while I don't always appreciate his exact lessons, I find myself liking him.

If he tried to sell me something, I know I would at least take my time to look if not buy right away. That alone is worth the price of a selling book to me.

I don't always agree with what Jeffery Gitomer says, but I really enjoy his writing. Not only that, he is downright likeable. Purely, clearly 100% likeable.

Pick up this book to see how sales can be done even in the product itself. Enjoy - and see how you can begin increasing sales right away from Principle 1 to Principle 12.5.
