Rating: Summary: A monumental work that is an encyclopedic compendium Review: This book is an invaluable addition to the available literature. Never before has so much useful information about the physiology and biology of greenhouse plants and their growth been assembled in one book. Hanan has combed the literature, inclucing very recent developments, with a fine-tooth comb. The over 1700 reference citations alone are worth the price of the book. This is the reference book for those who want to understand the whys and wherefores of plant growth under greenhouse conditions, who recognize the complexities of the factors at work, and are willing to make the effort to make use of the scientific information that is available. If it's available, it's in this book--clearly and concisely presented, with many graphs and illustrations. In addition, it contains much useful information about sensors and controls for climate control and promotion of growth in greenhouse environments.
