Summary: Ok for a HS project
Review: After skimming through the book I questioned why it appeared in the Business section of the store. It clearly belonged to the children's lit section. The content is comically shallow. It may suffice for a high school project, but not for a work that is to be published and receive the widespread publicity. Douglas, we appreciate your youthful fascination with such facts that passion for work and integrity are essential for business success, but in this case you could have kept your revelations from correspondence with the CEOs to yourself.

Summary: Concrete Advice for a Young Entrepreneur
Review: Douglas Barry's first installment as an author clearly indicates the widely divergent viewpoints on the available "Wisdom for a Young CEO."

While the response from over 100 CEOs of the nation's largest companies regarding the personal characteristics and attributes is truly inspiring and very laudable, their treatment of his specific question isn't entirely successfull. Regrettably, the memos lack concrete advice for a young entrepreneur on exactly how to become a CEO.

If you know of a young adult, like Douglas Barry, who can perceive an opportunity which needs to be built upon and encouraged, please provide the following appropriate wisdom and insightful advice:

"Starting with practically nothing, at age 18, you create an organization to pursue an endeavor that benefits society, assemble the required resources, implement a practical plan, assume the risk and share the rewards."

For instance, in my CEO@18â„¢ Youth and Collegiate Entrepreneurship Development Program presented by WHOmentors.com, young adults look at creating a Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation for charitable purposes as a Mentor Practitionerâ„¢ development opportunity-from the very definition of the concept to what will be expected of them as the Director & CEO and what they can expect in return, and from how to decide the most appropriate exempt activity that reflects their academic focus and fits their new "executive" lifestyle.

Their entity will be welcomed and given corporate powers, rights and privileges by their Secretary of State and designated as exempt from taxes by both the State Franchise Tax Board and the Internal Revenue Service.

In cultivating such a relationship with young people, you can provide the missing stepping stone for young people to feel more included, valued and more powerful agents in society.

Summary: Ok for a HS project
Review: The book was very ok for a high schooler. He has the passion to succeed and lead in his future and asks the right questions to the right people. Since the wisdom is coming from the CEOs, it is not the wisdom of a high school kid. The CEOs are very sincere since Douglas Barry seemed to explain to the CEOs of his background and what he hopes to get from asking these questions. The advice from the CEOs are both inspirational and practical in applying to in life as well in business. I hope that the future CEOs will read and learn from this book.

Summary: Wisdom for a Young CEO by Barry
Review: This book would be excellent for an aspiring CEO or someone
planning to own his/her business. The author advises to
do something that we like intensely. A CEO must remember that
the people in the organization are the first priority.
CEOs should be honest and pragmatic in all of their business
dealings. The key words are to "look, listen and learn".
Above all, good leaders tend to be humble. Being humble
does not necessarily mean being servile. It is an absence of
blind pride in favor of agreeableness in the corporate culture.
The book is an excellent value for a wide constituency of
businesspeople, students and budding entrepreneurs.
