Rating: Summary: Packed with solid ideas. Review: First off, this book is phenomenal. Had I known a year ago, what I know now from reading "The Closers", I would have been able to take a year off and go to Costa Rica. As a relatively new salesperson, this book has helped me in abundance. MANY people will tell you that timeshare is one of the toughest things to sell, and one thing this book has helped me realize, is that it doesn't matter what you sell, as long as you use conviction, sincerity for the customer's needs, and most importantly, ENTHUSIASM.I disagree with the "Warning" on the book that says it is not for the novice. If you're new to sales, and you pick up this book, you will know by the time you are finished if you have what it takes to be a Master Closer or not. If anything in this book offends you, then you may want to think about a new career. However, if you want to see through the eyes of one of the best in the business, and you want to be a closer so bad that you can taste it, then get this one. I also strongly reccommend it to those that have been in the business for a while. It covers literally EVERYTHING I can think of from all the different types of closers to all the different types of customers, their objections, how to overcome those objections, and how to sell literally ANY kind of person in the world. If you're going through a slump or are in a "slick spot", this book will pull you out and catapult you back to the top. I can't praise it enough. It's been my wisest investment since I entered the sales world and I keep it with me at all times. Not only has it helped me to realize my full potential, it's also pushing me to be more. It's inspired me to become a Real Estate agent. This book will not only make you a better sales person, it could possibly change your life (for the better). Give it a shot. You can only gain from it.

Rating: Summary: Depends on what you sell Review: Great book, one of the best I have read on closing the sale. The only thing I didn't like about it was it seemed a bit cold, and I hate cold heartless salesman, then again I hate warm mushy salesman, come to think about it I hate most salesman! I preferred Zig Ziglar's "Secrets Of Closing The Sale" book.

Rating: Summary: good marketing Review: I can only repeat this is a good book, however, there is one thing that really gets on my nerves, this book is 100% identical with "The art of closing any deal" by Jim Pickens, I picked up my delivery yesterday and then found out. Strangely, the author of THIS book (the closers) is called James Pickens (not Jim). I was kind of thinking this could happen beforehand, made a comparison..., different amount of pages for both books, so this is how I got fooled anyway.
Rating: Summary: Disappointed but somewhat helpful Review: I find Jim Pickens' books to contain much claim but not results. His own testimony of results have been questionable and I would suggest other motivational speakers books over his.
Rating: Summary: Must-read material for all Sales Professionals Review: I have read this book about 5 times since purchasing it 2 years ago. Each time I read it, my sales increase by about 40%! I am now the sales manager of a large Internet Backbone Provider and I have floated this book around my sales force as required reading. Each one of my reps who reads it, orders one for themself. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is serious about selling and about increasing thier income
Rating: Summary: Only for those who want to close more sales Review: I initially was turned off by this book because it appears to be too much "old school." Having now read the book and used many of the techniques, have noticed an increase in actual sales. If you can't close, all you have done is had a conversation. While some of the objections covered are not new, the manner in which Pickens responds is somewhat new and different. But that should come as no surprise since the author is a true master closer with decades of real world experience. Not someone hiding behind a managers oak desk. "The Closers" is 10 chapters and 278 pages of powerful information. It includes the 20 greatest closes and 15 buyer objections and forty-five red hot closer responses. Something that stood out for me occurred in the chapter on how a closer thinks. The author states that if you take out the letter "c" out of closer it spells loser. The "c" stands for confidence, compassion, control and courage. Strong point! The warning on the front of the book may be a little misleading. I believe that anyone and everyone who wants to be a sales professional must read this book. However, if your goal is to stay at the novice level forever, then this book is not for you. The closers is a must read for all sales professionals and I highly recopmmend it.
