The Civil Engineering Handbook, Second Edition

Summary: all-inclusive, but not too useful on the P.E. exam
Review: If you operate a plant, or design frequently, or if you consult, and often are challenged with new concepts, this is useful, but I purchased it for use in the P.E. last year and it's not as useful as I'd hoped for that. It's just too much un-related information, and frankly, it covers a lot of NON-civil topics, too. On many common civil topics, it's mute, or nearly so. I know others who've found it a good desk reference, however.

Review: This is an incredible reference book for any civil engineer. The price may appear a bit high but for the amount of information you are getting one could argue it is actually cheap! This is the most inclusive handbook I have ever used.
