Summary: Outstanding Book for First-Time THR Patients
Review: This excellent book rates 10 stars! Written by an orthopedic surgeon, a physical therapist, and their patient, the book gives equal time to each point of view and discusses Ron's actual surgeries, what went well and what went wrong, and how it could be improved next time. I recognized myself and my own problems throughout the book. Gratefully, I felt much more knowledgeable and better able to advocate for myself after I finished reading this book.

Review: When I first picked up this book I thought that its utility would be limited to "living with arthritis" but my hip arthritis progressed quickly and within two years I was planning for total hip replacement. Ron Allen's perpective has helped buoy my spirits and has helped me find the determination to make it through what will be a tough few months.
