Summary: Engaging and Inspiring
Review: "It's Not about the Horse" is one of the most concise and readable discussions on, as Wyatt Webb says, discovering how we can do things differently. This little book is chock full of easy to grasp and swallow morsels of wisdom. Webb's voice is relevant, irreverent, at times hilarious, and honest. He shines a light on many truths in a uniquely accessible and engaging manner without writing whole chapters about each one. He manages to walk you straight toward some of the most difficult doors we all stand before as human beings and open them up with a simple, down-to-earth understanding that comes directly from his own painful journey.

Most of this book lives true to the title, however it does seem that Webb's approach could be summed up by his belief that working with horses offers one the opportunity to "get real or get lost". (He does have a kind of 'take no prisoners' way about him.) He shows us a glimpse of how he got real and offers us his guidance in finding our way back home. I think this book would be useful to just about anyone who picked it up.

Summary: A very inspiring read
Review: As a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor I found this book very inspirational, I also deal with at risk youth and have seen the truely magical results when you include horses in your therapy. I am excited about going to Tucson and seeing Wyatt's program myself.

Summary: Giddy Up!
Review: For Perennially Messed Up American

Lots of proactive helpful insight for the neurotic, unfulfilled, and bemused American. After Carl May, Maslow, Chicken Soup for the Soul, and Prozac--we now have horsies.

Like anything, if you have a fat checkbook, and if you can take this information and apply it to yourself and your outlook on life, it will benefit you greatly.

Giddy-up!

Summary: Insightful and Inspiring
Review: I loved Wyatt Webb's book. I had the pleasure of meeting Wyatt in person at Miraval, purchased the book there (actually it was purchased for me by a friend), and read the entire book on the plane ride back home to Chicago. I found the book to be interesting, informative and most of all inspiring; offering useful tips on how you, too, could change your life. I also think that the review that criticizes Wyatt for "taking all the credit" for equine therapy is unfounded - in no way does he state or imply that he is the sole or only practitioner of this type of therapy. This book is simply the VERY INSPIRING story of his life, including the role that equine therapy has played in it.

Summary: one of the most profound books i have ever read
Review: i was fortunate enough to take wyatt's equine experience at miraval. 3 hours together with wyatt did more for me than 6 years of therapy. it was truly amazing. who would have thought that grooming a horse would tell me so much about the way i live my life. but as wyatt shows, the way we do anything is the way we do everything.

for those of you who can GO TO MIRAVAL for the WYATT WEBB INTENSIVES, i HIGHLY ENCOURAGE you to BUY THIS BOOK and GO there. for those of you who cannot, YOU SIMPLY MUST BUY THIS BOOK. it WILL help you CHANGE YOUR LIFE!

all of us live with fear and self doubt and those two emotions cripple our ability to live the life we want to live. the stories in this book are real. the transformations miraculous. i have seen them. they have happened to me in my own life and i have seen them happen in the life of others. WYATT WEBB IS REAL.

do yourself a favor, BUY YOURSELF a copy of "it's not about the horse" right NOW! and if you have a REALLY GOOD FRIEND, BUY IT FOR THEM as well. they will really appreciate it.

i only hope it will do for you what it has done for me.

Review: I was moved and educated by this book.
The way the author opened himself up and was honest about his dysfunctional childhood, drug addiction and general personal problems made him human. To read that his journey to heal that past prompted him to want to share and help others heal is incredibly inspiring. The unconventional method he uses with horses to get to the "core of the matter" is brilliant. What a terrific combination: someone who's "been there" and can speak from first hand experience and the power, simple intelligence and beauty of horses. I can't say enough about what reading this book has meant to me. Thank you Wyatt Webb for having the nerve and strength to put your life and this book together.

Summary: Transformational Book
Review: I was so impressed with Wyatt's book that I immediately got online to find out how I could work wiht this man. I found out that I could not afford to go to Mirival, but Wyatt Webb is not scheduled to come to Cincinnati, Ohio in September, 2004 and I plan to attend then (513-300-6664 for more info). I have been in therapy for many years and have fely stuck lately, but this book helped me get moving again!
