Summary: A must-read for all lupus patients
Review: A very comprehensive book that covers different organ systems that lupus can affect. The information is updated and enables the readers to discuss intelligently with theirs doctor about the symptoms and treatments. The author successfully conveys complex medical information in layman terms. The book is rich in contents but should not be difficult to understand for anyone. All lupus patients and their familities should add this book to their lupus literature collection.

Summary: A Must - Have for Lupus Patients
Review: Books written by doctors can be too technical, uncaring, boring, overly clinical --- you get the point!! Not this one.
I refer to this wonderful book on a weekly basis. It details all areas of lupus involvement and in just the right amount of detail for the lupus layperson. It is written in language that the average person can understand and one does not have to have the Merck Manual next to them to translate the various "foreign" medical terms mentioned.
I have learned so much more about this very frustrating disease from Dr. Wallace and look upon this book as a great reference tool.

Summary: Best lupus book.
Review: Dr Wallace has out done himself in this book. Thank you so much. This is the first book that actually helps explaine the unexplainable. Your fist book was good but this is excelent. I recomend this book to all my fiends who suffer from the same problems.

Summary: starting over with lupus
Review: Eight years ago I was diagnosed with discoid lupus. Two weeks ago the disease transitioned to my kidneys creating an entire new situation for me to deal with... Having The Lupus Book as reference, allowed me to re-acquaint myself with things I knew and learn about this latest manifestation. For most of us, lupus is chronic & ongoing. A book like this will travel as your companion if/when your disease takes a different form. Sensitive and intelligent - this book is a truly caring guide for anyone coping with a changing illness.

Summary: a patient of dr. wallace and dr. hallegua
Review: I had been suffering more than 6 years w/almost 30 different doctors all with different misdiagnosises and no relief when I met Dr. Hallegua who is Dr. Wallace's partner. In a week I had the blessing of a lupus diagnosis, a Dr who cared and meds that made a world of difference. I highly recomend their books to sufferers of lupus as well as their friends and family. They are the best in their feild, passionate in their work, and if you are not lucky enough to be their patient you can still be lucky enough to read their wise words.great aid in educating loved ones
