Rating: Summary: The role personal psychology plays in infertility Review: A book which primarily focuses on emotional and psychological states in women who deal with infertility. The issue of psycho-emotional health in fertility is rarely discussed. Women's thoughts and emotions can reflect on their physiology--very important in cases of women who have negative feelings about their infertility.

Rating: Summary: Informative but too much of a marketing tool for author Review: After having read several books on infertility, I must say that this one was the one I liked the least. Although there were sections that were very informative, the author ended every other paragraph with, "if you come to my mind-body classes, you will get pregnant." All of us who are going through this infertility rollercoaster, truly believe that going to our doctor, following his/her plan of treatment and doing only good things for ourselves, will bring a positive result. We don't need someone telling us that we should travel or look out for the next workshop in order to guarantee fertility. Too subjective and author had her own agenda which doesn't make for a positive experience. There are other books that can help you cope with infertility rather than tell you that what you're doing is wrong. Try Laugh-in Infertility. I could not stop laughing with this book and it made me feel better about my situation.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Book Review: I found this book to be very informative. There are two books that I would recommend to every person experiencing infertility. This one and the new book, What to Expect When You're NOT Expecting. ... I hope this review will make a difference and that's you'd read both books and be on your way to coping with infertility.
Rating: Summary: A Must Read Review: I have been going thru infertility for over 3 years now, I picked up this book and at first had an attitude with it, how dare she say I do all of these things and I'll get pregnant. Then a day or two later I remembered that I did do a mind/body program at our local hospital and I DID get pregnant with my next IVF cycle. (I did loose the baby at 11 weeks due to other medical problems). Not saying that this is the all in all answer, but I do believe that being in touch with your inner being is a good thing. I run a peer group infertility group and have recommended this to everyone.

Rating: Summary: Informative but too much of a marketing tool for author Review: I'm not the most avid reader in my house, that title belongs to my husband. This book was definitely the exception! To use my husband's words, I completely devoured this book! Every issue I had dealing with PCOS and with Trying To Conceive was dealt with in this book. The book is very easy to read, very easy to understand, and is incredible! You can really tell that Alice Domar knows exactly what she's talking about, and really has been counseling couples dealing with these same issues - they were the exact same issues we had been dealing with, and for someone to put it into words as wonderfully as she has...it was very enlightening. Everyone who is trying to conceive and has PCOS MUST read this book as soon as possible. Thanks millions Alice!!!
Rating: Summary: Absolutely incredible!!! Definitely a "MUST READ"!!! Review: I'm not the most avid reader in my house, that title belongs to my husband. This book was definitely the exception! Rating: Summary: Wonderful information Review: My husband and I have been going through infertility for over 5 years. I wish we had this book years ago. It answered so many questions on tests, procedures and what happens next. Great book to have.
Rating: Summary: This book helped me conceive! Review: Thank you for this insightful book. It changed my thinking on infertility. I'd gone through every treatment imaginable and was told that IVF with ICSI was our only option. After reading this book and recapturing my faith, I decided to get baptized. On the day I was baptized we conceived my son.
This book helps you realize that having a child is not something that you have to obsess about and stress about. The part about "If you really want to become parents you will" is such a refreshing shift in attitude. If all the pills, shots, tests and doctors are making you feel lost and depressed, then I highly recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: A Positive Approach to a Life Crisis Review: This book picks up where others leave off. It deals with the emotional pain, stress and anxiety that accompany infertility. It covers topics such as how to cope in a fertile world, what to do when you're "mad at God", and dealing with friends and family. The best part is that it offers techniques that not only help patients lower their stress levels, but may actually enhance their chances of pregnancy success. I have been an infertility nurse specialist for 12 years, and I think that this book fills a void that will truly enhance patient care. I believe it should be "required reading" for all infertility patients and their healthcare providers.
