Rating: Summary: THIS IS EVEN BETTER THAN THE FIRST! Review: Their first edition was wonderfully informative....This is even better! Knowing Stanley and Marguerite and their love of any critter, this book will become any Taratula Keeper's "bible". My children and I were blessed with an introduction to Tarantulas when we met the Schultz'. They are exceptional teachers and we learned how interesting and fascinating tarantulas can be. Since meeting them in the 1980's we have had at least one or more tarantuals in our homes, and are blessed with a friendship that now crosses international boundaries. Stan and Marguerites love of the species is evident in their writing and especially in their home, possibly the largest collection of tarantulas anywhere in the world. I am honored to be a friend and a fan.
Rating: Summary: A bible for Tarantula Owners! Review: This book contains more useful information than any otherTarantula book I have ever read. I learned something new on everypage! Beginner and expert alike would benefit from reading it.Everything that is known about tarantulas is in this book, including how toos on spider collection, disease treatments, identification, parasites and anything else I can think of. I loved this book
Rating: Summary: A must-buy for all tarantulas hobbyist Review: This book cover details in all aspects of how to keep tarantulas successfully. In one chapter, there is even information on 'cagemates'! The scientific and common names section at the latter section of the books serve as a really good reference for hobbyists who wanna acquire their new pets and study or identify their existing collections. One draw back is that the book doesn't have much pics on tarantulas, especially for those names that listed at the back, I know this maybe too much to ask, but just a little comment! One last word---a GREAT BOOK!!
Rating: Summary: Excellent book for the tarantula hobbyist Review: This book is excellent from cover to cover. Detailed information on care, breeding, food, species, and biology are all in "The Tarantula Keeper's Guide". I was given a Chilean Rose tarantula as a gift 9 months ago and considered myself ignorant of their required care. "The Tarantula Keeper's Guide" was the most informative book out of 6 purchased. I now have over 35 tarantulas consisting of 28 species and consider myself much more knowledgable about their care and biology. I have even started breeding some of my tarantulas. You won't find a better book in print if you're a beginner or expert.

Rating: Summary: The best authority on theraphosid spiders in print Review: This book, along with Sam Marshall's TARANTULAS AND OTHER ARACHNIDS, is one of two of the best available books on tarantulas, or Theraphosid spiders. Very detailed for the expert enthusiast and able to be read by beginners, this book will guide you in your new found hobby. The only problems that arise from this book is that, unfortunately, like most books with scientific information, some of it is already out-dated, specifically species names. A must-have.
